He can be used to copy a defender at the bottom of the gym, and used to deal SE damage to a defender higher up. Like for instance, if you don't have a double ice moveset and there's a lapras in a gym that does, you can copy it and use it against dragonite after taking down the lapras.
Only thing with using ditto as an attacker is even though he copies the defending pokemon, he only copies the pokemon, it's level and the moveset. Ditto still keeps his base stats and IVs, so he's still definitely a glass cannon

Ditto as an attacker?
I know that Ditto is useless as a defender as the attacker can lead with a Magikarp or a tank like Vaporeon/Snorlax. But how useful is he as an attacker? What matchups would he be most useful for? I suspect that he may be good for attacking Dragonites with DT or DB. Of course, he must be at least level 30 to be effective.
