I just hatched my 2nd 98% IV cyndaquil and am considerIng holding off the evolve in the hopes that gen 3 or sometime in future he might be able to roll fire spin. Is this a crazy/hopeless idea? I'm stoked by the 98% IV but not my options for typlosion.

My first 98% evolved typlosion with ember/fireblast and even if the new one gets ember/overheat, I'm not sure I would power it up since I already have a flareon (89% IV) with perfect moveset I can power up if I want something better than arcanine ff/fb.

I think I might just have something against ember. Animation is really whimpy feeling or something...

Please let me know your opinions/thoughts.

If you already have one, you might as well hold off. If history serves, there's a good chance they update the moves.

really sucks knowing they can just change the power of moves whenever they want. To me it defeats the purpose of powering up. Add in the fact they can change the number of uses per 100 energy makes it even worse.

I like Typlosion - very much a glass cannon though. Fire Pokemon are rare in my biome, but a temporary nest and using my stock of Pinaps got me an ember/solarbeam - pretty useless as an attacker but when (and it's not guaranteed) he survives long enough as a defender against Vapes/Rhydon to fire off SoB he hits like a truck.

One of those less than great Pokemon that I still have a fondness for.

Pretty unique moveset, almost like a hidden power. This is one is sure to be rare of movesets ever change again and much better than my water gun/fire blast slow king :)

Overheat might have a higher DPS but Fire blast is still a Great charge move. I would wait for a move set change to evolve the other one. Congrats on the hatches BTW!
