Cranidos in eggs?

He's probably in the 10km's but i wonder if anyone know if somebody already hatched him (I'm so desperate to get one bc before this event i didn't catch it and now it simply vanished in my region)

Cranidos is a fossil pokemon that evolves, likely it will be in 5ks like the others. Aerodactyl is the only fossil pokemon that doesnt evolve, and it is in 10ks.

However I am not sure its in eggs yet.

Okay, but Cranidos is the only fossil meta-relevant in gyms and raids until Archen so it could be in the 10ks

Not every meta relevant pokemon is in 10k's, machop swuinub and magikarp are still in 2ks, sneasel, magnemite (when it gets magnazone) all the starters (for eventual CD moves) are 5ks, the babies (most of which have fantastic evolutions) are in 7ks, and not every 10k pokemon is meta relevant, see miltank drifloon, skorupi, trapinch, slakoth in 10ks.

egg placement isnt really related to relevance, many of the relevant pokemon like tyrantiar, metagross, chansey/blissey, snorlax and dragonite all are from 10ks, but those are pokemon that are meant to be rare because of the main series and supposed to be difficult to get, all the fossil pokemon that have evolution lines are in 5ks, I dont think niantic would specifically make cranidos a 10k just because its relevant.

You do remember that kabuto and omanyte started as part of the 10km egg pool right?
I’d expect the new fossil pokemon to start as 10km eggs and much later be moved to 5km, but I won’t cry if they’re sent directly to the 5km or 7km either.

I agree with you that you don’t have to be meta relevant to be in 10km eggs but I disagree with you on the part that you are assuming they’d be placed in 5km on the simple fact that kabuto and omanyte are now there.

It didn't vanish with the event. I saw one last night on my nearby on the same pokestop that I got my first one on. It's was also partly cloudy. So be on the look out for partly cloudy weather.

Not in eggs atm. Which is odd because all the others fossils are in eggs since fossils in general are really hard to find in the wild.

I caught one today in the wild! Maybe they are just starting to show up.
