level 34,5 vaps vs level 27 poliwrath
vaps win with 50% hp left

now same pokemons but this time poliwrath is level 34 and still same results, leveling up poli didnt make almost any affect in combat.

This makes me question.

I have level 31 (1200+) chansey and sometimes i throw it in gym to stop low level players, but how low level player have to be to time out?

I see my chansey was alrdy beated out of gym by 2 players (level 6 and 20)

So my chansey cant even time out level 20 player???

The CP Multiplier affects them, and it can make a really big difference on attack.

If 2 or more players are attacking the Chansey at the same time, it will be beaten quite easily for sure.

By running the numbers the leveled up poliwrath will deal about 9% more damage, receive about 9% less damage, and have a little bit more HP. Not much difference.

As for the Chansey, I believe the highest level a defender has in battle is the attacking trainer's level + 1.5, meaning for the level 20 trainer your Chansey would be level 21.5. (This to allow low level trainers to have a chance in gym battles). I don't know how that works when multiple trainers with different levels attack at the same time.

Trainer level + 1.5 is for prestiging not for battles.

Prestiging is a battle against friendly Pokémon.

Of course, prestiging is always a 1v1 battle. Your situation is at prestiging friendly gyms, while mine is attacking rival gyms.

I thought it was both attacking and prestiging. Haven't seen it myself for a long time, so I just used my ineffective memory. Made sense when I typed it though...

I remember that I did some testing with my lvl 30 chansey(1,2k cp). Against 30lvl vaporeon it takes around 40-50s to knock-out. A bit smaller, maybe 25 lvl vaporeon took 70 sec. So maybe around 20lvl vaporeon are in the grey area for time out.
