The "big 20" explanation – episode 4 – Pinsir (part 2) – Rock Smash is "that" bad

Rock Smash is without STAB, and generates energy extremely slowly. Without super effective damage, it is inferior in most big cases.

Rock Smash is only better than FC and BB against Steel.
Bug Bite and Fury Cutter both performs well, BB does more damage while FC generates energy faster.
Close Combat is a decent move if with super effective damage, as well as Submission.
X-scissor is by far the best move for Pinsir.
Vice Grip is inferior in most attacking cases, it performs OK at defense.
