Best water gun - hydropump mons

Vaporeon > omastar > blastoise > starmie > golduck > seadra.
Is this the correct order?

I think so, but I find seadra a good pokemon to attack with; try it.

Are you going off pure attack stats or best overall? Both Starmie and Omastar have higher attack than Vaporeon however because Vaporeon has better HP and Def it will last longer and therefore deal more damage before fainting.

Sort of. If you kill the enemy faster they have less chance to do damage to you as well, especially charge moves. Also if you are an efficient dodger, good dodging combined with fast kills can mean less damage overall.

Regardless of how well you dodge you always take some damage from the attacks so Vaporeon will still last longer than Omastar and Starmie. Besides my point is more that there are a lot of variables that go into this in order to give an answer hence me asking so we can have some clarity :)

Then starmie does the most (from my experience) before fainting.

Yes, I'd think of Starmie as a "glass cannon" compared to Vaporeon - Starmie is going to give you better burst damage, all things being equal, but is going to die faster. If I was attacking a gym that had two Rhyhorns in a row, for example, I might put a strong Starmie up to power them down, or a Vaporeon in to outlast them, depending on the rest of the defending team.

Out of interest has anyone powered up a Starmie to use as an attacker rather than for just prestiging? They're very common round my way so candies are easy...

I have powered mine up to about 1700 CP - I don't use Water attackers that often but she does her job when needed.

I have mine maxed out at level 31.5 and it just gets the job done. I like putting it to defend cause you rarely see it but due to its low CP it's always at the bottom.

I use gun/pump Starmie for prestiging against alakazam. The psychic typing comes in handy against kazam moves. Using the same thinking, Omastar would be best against fire. Probably vaporean or starmie against Rhydons, starmie maybe again because half the time rhydons have rock smash fighting type quick move.

Enemy gyms it's max power which for me means vaporean or pump gyarados.

I use Exeggutor with Solar beam. It does more damage then any pokemons Hydro Pump.

When Arcanines were more common gym defenders, Omastar had a better type advantage. Now that Rhydons are more common instead, Omastar's value has gone down.

I think so, but Golduck using hydro pump had caused me problems training.
