Anyone investing/evolving right meow?
Is anyone evolving or powering up? I have an 89 IV Flaafy and an 87 IV Larvitar ready to evolve to final form but I am hesitant due to this “Save your candies, wink wink nudge nudge”. I had to walk a sh**tload (ok I leave it on during my morning commute when I sit in traffic too) to get enough candies so I don’t want to blow them now for nothing. Should I wait until after the gym rebalance? After the probable Easter candy event? I am not hurting for attackers/defenders but a good T-Rex or Ampharos would be great additions to this new gym meta.

I thought about waiting but decided to hell with it. I usually keep 500K dust in storage so I'll just spend whatever I accrue over this amount on things that entertain me. I'm also not sure that the comment we are referencing wasn't just an offhand remark being blown out of proportion.
That said at this point I'm only really putting any effort into evolving a Machamp with the right moveset, as well as Dragonites and Tyranitars. I do not think that due to the base stats of Dragonite (as well as his great typing) or the base stats of Tyranitar that a change to things will make either insignificant. However, I am not powering up any more Blisseys because I feel if one thing will change it will be her dominance over other defenders. Plus I just do not need anymore defenders so it isn't hard to not evolve her or spend dust and candies on her.

If it takes them 3 months or longer to make changes, that's 3 months that you can build your supplies back up. I had 4 level 33 plus Lapras all get nerfed last month. So now I'm working on getting 4 level 33 plus Blisseys. If they get nerfed, then I work on whatever is next.
Every day that you wait is a day wasted!
Pretty sure it was just an off hand comment. I did one evolution spree last week because I had enough saved for two and I don't regret it. We may get a double XP event soon, but that's it.
Although the gym system may be overhauled, you will still want a good Ampharos and Tyranitar, so I don't think there's any point in waiting to evolve them.
In terms of investing, I was holding off but finally powered up a high IV Vape with HP (had maxed an AT and WP Vape already) just to get in a high level gym as I was out of high CP defenders. If you can, wait on investing except for a pokemon you don't have and it has a good move set.
I try to keep some evolutions for a possible double xp. I don't have xatu, noctow, furret, ledian, magcargo, quagsire, ariados, the 2 new eeveelutions, lanturn, azumarill, skiploom, jumpluff and donphan yet, but I have candies to evolve all of them. I also was keeping bayleef and maganium, but I find a wild meganium with 1700 cp and I had to catch it, and ursaring, and I avoided this one for a while, have probably seen 5 or 6 of them before a 2100 cp one appeared on my house, also had to catch. I am hoping to get candies for the others starters and tyranitar before easter. If the easter event is not double xp I will just evolve them all with a lucky egg.
From the beginning of gen2 I've evolved and powered up:
- Dragonite SW/H
- Blissey ZH/DG
- Espeon C/FS
- Machamp C/DP
- Golem RT/SE
- Scizor FC/IH
- Gengar H/SB
Still colecting candy for Tyranitar, Ampharos and the starters, but will wait out until 200 candy each to be able to max out instantly and eventually getting benefits from an event.
