Another what should I do question...
I've been waiting for that 90+ magikarp for some time to evolve, why not since it takes so many to evolve one? I recently caught a highly rated one but the iv calculator ranges it from 82.2 to 93.3... Normally I would power it up to narrow it down but it's level 25 and costs 4000 dust. I have obtained 591 candies from playing since July so a second one would be quite a while in the future. Any advice on a more exact calculator? cp 149 hp 36 power up 4000 Hp is a 15.

With this stats: AT? DEF? S=15, CP 149 HP 36
Your Magikarp can be between 75.6%-91.1%, can you say if it has 13,14 or 15 in either of the other stats? What does your team leader says when you appraise him?
Anyway if you can't find any better option you could try to evolve it, but Magikarp is one normally "common" mon, from either wild or from 2k eggs, if you can wait a bit more I think you will eventually get a better one IV's
