Alakazam C/FS

I've been using my exeggutors with C/SB moveset to attack vapes or rhydon. With confusion, you can only attack once before dodging, it's not hard really, just don't get greedy and try to fit two confusion attacks in between the defender's attacks, you will fail to dodge if you do that. Its damage is already high enough even though you could only fit one attack before dodging. If you like to spam quick attacks before dodging, perhaps you would like psycho cut better. Personally I prefer psycho cut on alakazam since it's spammable and its dps is almost as good as confusion. The reason I've been using C/SB exeggutors is because all my exeggutors which have solar beam and good IVs got confusion as their quick move (ZH and extrasensory is not "fast" either with 1.1s, so I prefer confusion on exeggutor since its dps is noticably higher).

On paper, he has one of the highest circle DPS of all. Higher than DB/DC, F/OH.
But with Alakazam, you REALLY need to dodge. Otherwise, he dies too quickly and fails to realize his full potential.
There comes the biggest problem with Confusion - its long CD is very inefficient when dodging. If you practice well enough, then maybe you can master dodging with Confusion.
In comparison, Psycho Cut is very dodge-efficient. It loses some 5% less of circle DPS but in return, it gives much higher chance of survival. I have both and tried both. Personally, I prefer the latter.

added: As /u/aarontheblues said, you can only fit one Confusion between two enemy's attacks. If you have Psycho Cut then you may fit 4, which gives the same damage (4*5 = 20) but more energy. Another reason why I think PC/FS is a little bit better.

With C/FS you can go for espeon - slightly lower att-stat, but conciderable more defense.

Alakazams unique sellling point is Psycho Cut.

I just evolved two higher level Abras, but they both came with Focus Blast as the charge move and one had C, other had PC as the quick move.

I generally like Confusion on Exeggutor more since he can spam attacks against Blissey, but with Alakazam, it felt like the Psycho Cut one did much better.

Psycho Cut generates energy much faster (about 42% faster) and against Blissey, Focus Blast is close to Future Sight damage...

I'll try to use him more and more and the great thing with him is if you dodge Zen Headbutt, it only does 1 damage against you vs. a perfect IV Level 30 Blissey...

Save for psycho cut. I've had 3 dud alakazams and I will continue to save because psycho cut is ideal for using alakazam

I hit Blisseys with FS Alakazams. Once I've met it in a gym and it hits like a truck, it had Psychic and not FS and it STILL hits like a truck.
