3rd gyarados
Evolved my higher lvl magikarp to my 3rd gyardos. Its 84% IV with Bite and Crunch.
Not experienced with the new dos movesets so thoughts? Its current CP is 2388.... My others have bite/hydropump 98%, and 91% bite/twister (this one is only 1436 because when I saw twister I left it alone)
Powerup, or find other candidates to power up?

I had a feeling Bite/Crunch looked less than mediocre TBH. As for B/HP, already have that bad boy fully powered up and will do so again once I hit lvl 33 (he never sees a gym as a defender as he is my primary attacker in almost EVERY situation).
I know its all RNG, but just gotta keep grinding on. I did this one mostly because i wouldn't pour in so much stardust trying to fully power up.
Yeah I have like 10 level 20 90+ Magikarps formerly from eggs I never bothered to evolve and power up since the cost was too high for my liking! I occasionally luck out and obtain some 85-90ish level 27-9s since I live near water biome. Still no shiny sadly, but can't complain lol! Luckily the pineapp berries really help w/ Magikarps for players that don't have a consistent access to Karps.
Side Note: Gary gets alot of flak from super serious players on this site, but obviously he's a great option for those of us who have always used him. Great attack stat and can finish a Blissey off on his own. It's not Dragonite, but it's much easier to obtain ;).
Very similar situation to me just the other day.
3rd Gyarados, only mine was 96% IVs.
My 1st got Bite/Hydropump - 93%
My 2nd got Bite/Crunch - 98%
My 3rd got Bite/Crunch - 96%
Couldn't believe i got the exact same lackluster moves again.
I really hoped for something useful considering the candy cost and their good IVs.
All we can do is try again for now, and for the future hope this moveset gets a buff maybe so it actually has a use on defence, or add TMs
