2nd tournament done

won 3 lost 3. Had the right team in Toxicroak, Azumarill and Tyranitar (surprisingly few people had the latter) but the fact i barely do battles meant i wasn't quite smart enough against the good players. For example First battle let a venomoth silver wind hit my tyranitar, didn't even know about silver wind till then. After that i shielded all future silver winds so i was learning on the spot.

My main question here is, why aren't niantic organising these tournaments??

Since the game's inception, Niantic has pretty much taken a back seat to any kind of community organization, instead leaving that in the hands of local community leaders via Discord and such. The game lacks a messaging system, a way to tell if friends are online and available for PvP, and offers no way to tell if others are doing a nearby raid other than going up to the gym and seeing if other people are in the lobby. For a socially interactive game, it's always been rather lacking on the support end for bringing people together.

I imagine they'll do more or less the same with tournaments, unless they can make a profit from them. Then, that might change.

Because they lack vision for this game's future development, and probably also don't have the capability or manpower, judging by how hard it is for them to get anything at all done. Fixing critical bugs takes them weeks or months where other mobile games do it in days. Why they haven't invested more resources into exploiting the golden goose called POGO is beyond me.

I'd rather have Niantic create some organizing tool for people to use to create tournaments. Messaging and notifications need to be much better, almost non-existent currently.
