100% IV Holiday Raichu, worth dust?

I evolved a holiday Pikachu because I wanted a Raichu with a santa hat before the event ends. I ran IVs afterwards and it turns out its 100% perfect.

The moveset is Spark/Thunder Punch and the CP is 1012. Should I power it up, or just hold on to it?

Thank you to all who answer!

I'd just hang on to it, for the collector value. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste any dust on pikachu / raichu.

Useful prestiger as is. But if it were mine, I'd probably max him out and put him in gyms just for fun

Actually somehow managed to catch a 100% Santa Pikachu (despite my ongoing inner monologue telling me to stop wasting balls and berries on these terrible monsters). Will keep him as is because with my luck the Raichu will be blessed with Brick Break...

If you just want a strong electric attacker, you'd probably be better off spamming Eevee evolves on any high level Eevee caught in the wild, regardless of IVs, until you got a Jolteon. IVs would be irrelevant if you weren't going to power up the Jolteon anyway.

Thunder Punch is similar to Discharge (Thunder Punch is slightly better), but that's only Jolteon's worst charge move - the worst Jolteon will be very similar in effectiveness to this Raichu if it was powered up, but without costing any dust, only Eevee candies which aren't hard to get, and if you get a Jolteon that has Thunderbolt or Thunder, it would be more effective than this Raichu even with lesser IVs.

That being said, not everyone wants to be hyper-competitive player that only spends their resources on the highest tier Pokemon. If you like using Raichu, don't let other people stop you from doing so.

Although you can still use it in it's current state as a prestiger as vuviper said, without having to invest any stardust/candy if that's an issue for you.

Appreciate the in-depth response. I already have two 2000+ Jolteons, so I'll probably keep this guy as a prestiger as you both have suggested. Seems to do the trick well after testing it out.

I am just glad I got spark/thunder punch. I didn't even know Raichu could get brick-break...

If traiding comes into game in the future it is has a high "collector-value".

Too bad you evolved it...I think as the mascot of Pokemon, having a 100% Pikachu would be worth more as a tradable mon (and a Santa hat one too which would be more rare than a regular Pikachu).

I think the hat stays even after the event so even if you wanted to evolve it later, you still could.

Maybe that's just me though, I wouldn't care for a 100% Raichu.

On powering up, I'd leave it at 1012 to prestige with.

Appreciate the insight, but trading hasn't been implemented yet. So there is no real way to know, I think since I managed to avoid brick-break it would have its own benefits to some traders with the assurance that they will get double STAB (also I'd prefer Raichu, personally).

I heard that evolving them after the event will not come with the hat, but that has yet to be seen. I think that will have the most significant impact.

I like Raichu as a prestiger - consider powering him up to just under half your Gyarados cp

1012 is enough to take down a 3k Gyarados easy. You just have to dodge the charge move.
