Article by Brian Tein

Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn is finally underway, and with it comes a plethora of worthwhile catches and event bonuses. To say the least, these days are full of goals and hopes for the entire community, but some among us have taken on an additional goal on top of it all. Yes, some of us have dared to make our wish, reach for the very stars above, and give Niantic $4.99 for even more stuff. Yes, some of us have taken on the Wish Granted Master Work, and are working our way towards obtaining Shiny Jirachi!

The shining Wishmaker is a pretty popular little guy, so a lot of people are likely to begin the journey to take it home themselves. But what exactly will this entail? Well, here's our brea-down of the steps needed to obtain Shiny Jirachi that we know of thus far:

Event Research

Wish Granted: Master Work

Step 1

Task Reward
Catch 385 Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region
Catch 385 Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region
Catch 385 Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region
Get the Golden Hoenn medal (Register 90 Unique Pokemon from the Hoenn Region)
Rewards

Step 2

Task Reward
Have 10 Best Buddy Pokemon
Earn a Heart with your Buddy for 20 Days in a Row
Rewards

Due to the time-gate at Step 2, we don't know what this Research line will entail beyond that, but it's important to note the Hoenn Gold Medal task in Step 1. This isn't a terribly hard task to complete, but newer players might have some difficulty reaching the 90 Hoenn-based Pokemon catches that it requires under normal circumstances, so be sure to take advantage of this event if you haven't already managed this achievement!
