Overview

Mega Charizard Y is a flying nuke of a Pokemon. It hits very hard, which can make TDO an issue if not managed via the proper counters. Luckily, many of the top DPS-counters for this raid also sport great resistances and defenses, making this far less of an issue than it seems. If managed correctly, Mega Charizard Y could be the easiest of the starting Mega Raids.

Approach

  • Front-load Rampardos in order to make the most of its massive DPS.
  • Prioritize Rock Wrecker Rhyperior next for its huge TDO and high DPS
  • keep a focus on rock types. Even in the rain, no other type can keep pace.
  • Power-house pokes like Shadow Tyranitar or Rock Wrecker Rhyperior can keep DPS up to acceptable levels while sporting enough bulk to keep in the game.
  • Mega Blastoise is the only viable Mega for this raid currently, and while it does improve the performance of Water Types thanks to its boosts, Rock Types are still the strongest counters.
  • Many other Pokemon have the DPS needed to win this Duo, use them as filler if need be.

Battling Strategy

  • The ideal Charged Move to fight against is Fire Blast
  • If fainting out, dodge more. If running out of time, dodge less.
