Don’t want to parse through all the information yourself, but want just a LITTLE more guidance than infographics provide? Let’s break down your raid counter options in today's 5 minute raid guide: Terrakion Edition

Quick note: everything in these tables is level 50 unless otherwise noted

Mewtwo, the Apex Predator

Terrakion, being a Fighting/Rock type, is weak to Fairy, Fighting, Grass, Ground, Psychic, Steel, and Water type damage. Mewtwo, and more specifically Shadow Mewtwo, with Psytrike is the clear premium choice for this raid. This shouldn’t be a shocker if you caught my Shadow Mewtwo article. It’s so far ahead it’s ridiculous. Check out this list of top overall choices.

Shadow Mewtwo is so good that a level 40 Shadow Mewtwo with Psytrike is better than every other top attacker even when they are at level 50. And even without the legacy move Psystrike, a Level 40 Shadow Mewtwo with Psychic is still pretty competitive amongst those level 50 choices.

Simply put, this raid is a showcase for the power and potential of Shadow Mewtwo.

Non-Legendary Options

Don’t have Mewtwo? Don’t really do raids? There’s still plenty of solid non-Legendary choices with Shadow Meteor Mash Metagross being the best among these Premier options.

Budget/Makeshift Options

Maybe you just don’t have a lot of raid stuff to work with. Maybe you’re trying to help locals, friends, or family cobble together effective raid teams. Here’s a table of decent non-shadow options that I could see people happening to have from Community Days, events, and seasonal spawns.

Earth Power Garchomp is the leader here but popular gym attacker Machamp is a sneaky good option to look out for that a lot of trainers will have.

Which Mega?

Picking a mega for this raid isn’t so simple. Technically Mega Alakazam is the best, but that’s with the legacy move Psychic. Non-legacy Mega Zam with Future Sight is a big step down. If you don’t have a Legacy Alakazam at the ready, I’d probably lean towards Mega Latios because the damage output is close and boosting your raid partners’ Mewtwo on the field has the greatest ancillary value.

Conclusion

Don’t overthink this raid. Just search @psystrike and fill your team with Mewtwo (preferably Shadows). That being said, if you don’t have Mewtwo there are plenty of other acceptable options that will keep it an easy trio.

Hope you found this helpful and happy raiding!
