Overview

The Regi trio have emerged from their sealed chamber, and they aim to leave our spirits crushed and potions depleted. All 3 legendary titans are bulky with no double weaknesses to exploit. Unprepared groups may be surprised when they fail to beat the clock. Regardless, small groups are the best way to maximize rewards against a boss that otherwise has little use.

Regice is technically be trioed by good friends using 18 maxed Moltres in clear weather, but this guide will focus on the more realistic 4-man attempt. The optimal counters vary by weather and moveset, but Machamp is always a great choice. Moltres and Entei, long awaiting their chance in the sun, stand out as well.

Approach

Team composition

  • While silly, the 3 x 3 MS Paint chart illustrates the best Regice counters

  • As Moltres and Entei cost Rare Candy, Machamp can fill out the lineup

  • Many other Pokemon are viable in the 3 most common weather types

Battling strategy

  • Re-entering is necessary; standard lineups shouldn’t need >1 re-entry

  • Dodging is mostly unnecessary but may help; beware of dodge glitch

Best Raid Boss Counters

Counters viable for 4-man in neutral weather at level 35
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

Pros:

  • The highest DPS vs. Regice; is an overall superior counter

  • Excels vs. Focus Blast and Earthquake due to resistances

  • Obtained as a former tier 5 raid boss and research reward

Cons:

  • Low candy accessibility due to legendary Pokemon status

  • Can encounter difficulty vs. Blizzard sets, even at level 40

Counters viable for 4-man in neutral weather at level 40
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

No Counter breakpoints above L28, so advised to max out at L40

Pros:

  • Easily accessible due to being a current tier 3 raid boss

Cons:

  • Lacks resistances and a little inconsistent if used alone

Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

Pros:

  • Does well vs. Blizzard and alright vs. other charge moves

  • Many players have one, as it was a former tier 5 raid boss

Cons:

  • Low candy accessibility due to legendary Pokemon status

  • DPS overall slightly lacking, leading to inconsistent win %
