Will meltan research expire?

So im going home for a week and the forecast shows a lto fo snow, so I wont be able to go out much (closest place with gyms/stops is ~2 miles away, dont have a car to drive there) and was wondering if this meltan special research would expire after the 27th.
Did the spiritomb research leave for those who didnt complete it?

The Spiritomb research is still active. I think we'll have plenty of time to complete the Meltan research though that's just my assumption.

I think all researches are still available. So there's no sign that Meltan's, the most recent one, would expire. :P

Guess you’re didn’t like the answers the other times you asked the same exact question

I think once you start it you are good to go. It's lame that they don't explain the specific time limit for this "limited" research but the idea of having these events between the larger mythical research is good

Completely agree, the larger research are kinda easy and more just "do this one thing each day" type task at points, but not like they take long for everything else, these smaller ones give some sort of specific goal to reach in between.

As others have mentioned, once you've started it (talking to Willow), it shouldn't go away.

Also, since you're likely going to be unable to play or limited in how often you can play for about a week, I'd suggest the following to make the research questline less of a pain to complete in the long haul:

• Save an Aerodactyl encounter (from the "hatch 2 eggs" quest) for step 8, as wild Aerodactyl are exceptionally rare and we don't know if Niantic plans to bring it back as a raid boss.
• Save a Ditto encounter (from the "make an excellent throw" quest) for step 3.
• Set your buddy to anything that earns candy every 1km (Geodude, Magikarp, etc) for steps 2 and 4 as they both require you to earn candy walking your buddy.
• Save the following Pokemon, which you will be required to evolve during various steps of the questline: 1x Grimer, 1x Magnemite, 1x Scyther, and 1x Drowzee. All of these spawns are currently boosted.

Thanks for the heads up.

Funny thing, actually have an aerodactyl quest at the moment, didnt even know it was needed.

currently im on step 4, that aerodactyl tip is going to save me a lot in the long run, ditto for the grimer and drowsie
