Why bubblestrat needs to be removed!

A few nights ago I ran into this player.

After I cleared a level 10 Valor gym and placed in my defender they attacked the gym, kicked me out then placed a Magikarp. Now I found it odd that a level 5 player would kick out a 3K Vaporeon so I attacked the gym, kicked them out and placed back in the Vaporeon. No sooner than walking away back to my car the gym was cleared again and now there was a Snorlax with a familiar name, and before I knew it the same Magikarp was added and there were battle animations at the gym.

So I went back to attack the gym and couldn't clear it and this is why:

What they did was use their main account, clear the gym, put in high level Snorlax or Blissey then switch to a secondary account and add a bubblestrat pokemon. They would then bubblestrat the gym up to level 10. By the time an attacker defeats the Snorlax or Blissey once, the gym was already bubblestrat 2 or 3 times so the gym never dropped below level 3. As time went on, every time I defeated the 2 pokemon in the gym the gym level actually rose instead of dropping.

In the end I just said F it and walked away. Next morning, all the gyms in the town was.......yep, you guessed it, Instinct.

This sucks!

Couldn't you have just kept beating up on the Karp? That's all they were doing. Never seen this before, but that's what I would have tried before I said F it and let the cheaters have their game.

You're right, if OP did this then s/he could have cleared the gym faster than the Bubblestratter was prestiging it.

Bubblestrat gives at most 1k prestige per Pokemon trained against, but it takes time to select 6 prestigers whereas someone on an opposing team can just use the automatic lineup because they're only battling a Magikarp, so it doesn't matter what they use. Plus they'd be 1-shotting the karp while the prestiger would probably take it down in around 3 attacks.

you know, report those 2, not that it will matter.

But dear god Ninatic.

Either get rid of your "1 acct per person" rule so everyone can play on even footing.

OR

When its blatant like this with the same trainer name get rid of 1

The problem as I see it was not the karp but the cheater! Although you will be able to beat him if you beat on the kart as the previous post suggests. Lucky he does not know how to bubble effectively or it would be worse.
In the end you can never beat a spoofer with lots of accounts so don't try. I gave up months ago.
Sorry to hear of your problem and hope he goes away eventually.

Agree with the above posts. There is a cheater in my area with over 10 accounts that does this method but instead of 1 bubblestrat defender, he puts in 3. Right away I did the calculations and confirmed it would be easiest to just battle his bubblestrat defenders and not the other high cp pokemon he places with his multiple accounts. Sure enough I've caught him bubblestratting around 5 times and defeated him this way.

When I encounter a new bubblestrat I attack only the low CP Pokemon over and over using a throw away.

As mentioned, since I only switch one Pokemon prior to battle, it is very fast. Player using bubblestrat has to substitute 6 Pokmons.

Looks more like why double account users needs to be banned. Or maybe why spoofers needs to be banned. It is not stated whether they was really there or not.
Btw karp is not real bubblestart, just cheap way to prestige.

I don't like spoofers or multiplayers; but multiplay is the larger problem.

You can just beat karp with automatic attacking line on repeat and insert your pokemon and get the coins.
(Bubblestrat defender need to pick up 6 mons for his line each time)

Only problem here comes if this player is active, then you dont have time to capture other gyms, cus he obviously takes your gym back in minutes.
The problem comes even worst if the guy is spoofer.

That's awful. I had an experience with cheating today as well.

I walked by a Mystic gym that had 1 slot open. I put my Dragonite ahead of the Blissey that was already in there. Then I proceeded to prestige the gym once.

And about 3 blocks away was another Mystic gym Level 3. It didn't have a slot open. I prestiged it then I put my 2698 ZH/BS Snorlax in. There was another Snorlax in the 2700's at the top of this second gym. Just as I was about to prestige this gym one more time before leaving, that first gym was already taken down! I was like, WTF? So then I proceeded to prestige this second gym. After doing so, I must have walked like 10 feet away from the gym. And then all of a sudden the 2nd gym starts getting taken down! I was like, WHAT THE BLEEEEEP? I looked around, no one was around! I was so mad!

Long story short, I said F it. I went home. I took a screen shot of the username. I'm about to report it. I ended up going back 2 hrs later and the first gym was Mystic again. Had an empty slot again. The 2nd gym was being taken down, I ran over there and helped take down Blissey. I got my 40 coins for the day. I'm semi satisfied. The cheating is out of control. If you walk by on foot and take my gym down, no problem. But when you're no where to be found and you take 2 gyms down that are 3 blocks away from each other in a matter of minutes, that is super frustrating!!!!

I didn't know you can splash/strugglestrat with a karp?

Maybe it wasn't for 1k prestige...

It's not resource free. It's only difficult to find a matchup that gives 1k prestige and is resourceless.

After reading through the responses I see a few valid points about just beating the Magikarp.

I believe this player was working with someone restaging the gym because everytime I defeated the Snorlax or Blissey they placed into the gym it was back to level 3 once my battle finished.

When I get a new phone that wont overheat using a screen recorder while playing Pogo I'm going to start recording my encounters like this.

:D
