Who to Walk?
What are recommended buddies? It seems Blissey is no longer a great gym choice, since you need your pokemon returned to you.
Larvitar (to get tyranitar ready for legendary)?
Geodude (for the birds)?
Machop (for the tyranitar/snorlax/future blissey? raids)?
I know rare candies are easier, but they are better saved.

What's funny is I was literally just about to post this question. I too don't see chansey as a viable buddy anymore. Right now
I'm going with larvitar since he's extremely rare in my biome. I have three t Rex's (one nearly powered all the way up) and wanna gather candy to power my other two up or evolve.
I dunno tbh, i think now theres not necessarily a 'must walk' buddy.
Its more down to what you need (within reason obviously, still more effective to walk for 5km tier rare candy)
Maybe a focus on your strong general attackers is safest.
I would say you still cant go wrong really with Larvitar, Dratini, Snorlax, Blissey etc.
Even Blissey for example, may not currently be as useful as before...its still because shes essential 'too strong' for the current system, and is still and may become more valuable in the future.
Tyranitar is not my choice since you can raid him. Walk either highly desired attackers or rare mons who don't raid.
Im on Chansey. Might go to Machop because I have a level30 on hand. Other than Unown my dex is as good as its going to get without a passport. That's not true I could go to Florida. . .
The raid scene is live in my area. Downtown there are always 5 high level people willing to team up and I'm in a group channel. We keep each Other posted. Even up in the boonies I ran into two people who came down to the lv3 Vape without coordinating beforehand. I guess it depends on your area. Even though I'm rural there are no shortages of trainers.
I live on an island. Population ~180k the city is on the complete other side ~50miles but really like 90 because the road isn't straight through. The bulk of the people are there. We have a solid strip that's touristy may be 10 miles away. Probably 20 or so local players who are quite serious and plenny of tourists looking for their corsola.
This is where I call home. Don't make assumptions.
Personally I just switched from Chansey/Blissey to Eeevee. I realize Machamp may not be a L3 raid boss for too long, but I have only one Espeon and it takes 10k regardless to make another, and even then the moves may suck, and you'll likely need 2 or more down the road, for another raid boss or otherwise.
