What to walk for Adventure Week?

Beldum: Already walked over 400 km and have 184 candy, but have yet to hatch a wonder. Frustrated because a Steel Metagross would complete my Jynx solo team.

Chansey: 32 candy and previously walked 200 km. Singapore has among the most competitive gym scenes in the world. I have two wonder Chanseys at level 20 and a Blissey at level 30.

Feebas: 54 candy and yet to hatch a wonder. I intend to use my eventual Milotic as a defender with DT/Bliz.

Bagon: Hatched my first one (15/13/10) just a few days ago for 16 candy. See my comments on Dratini.

Ralts: 97 candy and previously walked 80 km to power up my only Gardevoir (96%, Co/DG) to level 30. I have another five wonder Ralts (all level 15 or lower, best is 89%) hoping to become my second.

Togepi: 48 candy from hatching three (best is 96%) and catching a wild (also 96%) Togetic. Hoping Togekiss will be an upgrade from Gardevoir.

Snorlax: 36 candy but no wonder.

Dratini: Unlikely, as I have 266 candy and five Dragonites (two with DT/OR, one with DT/Hu, one with DT/DP and one with DT/DM) with my best at 91% (probably not worth maxing out).

Larvitar: 116 candy and a 12/15/15 hatchling waiting for 16 July, but by then, the Latis will be gone and Jynx may be gone too. I only have one Tyranitar (13/15/13 with Bite/Crunch).

Machop: Just joking. 702 candy to use.

Dude Machop lmao

But seriously I'd almost go with the Chansey in your case if gym defense is your gambit or Feebas if you need the dex entry still. Personally I'm walking my Bagon until I have enough to evolve it completely (16 candies away!) and after that I'll probably switch to either a Slakoth or Feebas since I still need their evolutions.

I still don't get why one should walk something different during reduced buddy distance events?
Ok, you shouldn't walk eevee or feebas, but other than that? Benefit/opportunity costs is the same.

I'm walking a (wonder) Feebas during adventure week, while normally I walk Bagon. The reason is that I still need the pokedex entry for Milotic, but I don't see an immediate use for it. The Bagon candy I normally gather is useful immediately for powering up my superduper Salamence. Events like these shift my priorities a bit towards the longer term ones, because it allows the long tterm tob e reached on the short term.
Don't know if that makes sense to you, but it does to me.

Of that group, I'd go Togepi, Bagon or Chansey.

I've got a feeling that Ralts is going to be the August Community Day Pokémon (and Squirtle in July) based on the Starter/Top 3 Evolution 1km Egg Attacker pattern so far. I figure it's going to be Ralts, Bagon or Beldun, and since we've already had a Dragon (Dratini), that leaves Beldun or Ralts. I'm betting on Ralts.

(Or Slaking with an actual Quick Move; I've got a 98% Wild-Caught Level 30 Vigoroth that I'm keeping in reserve for just that possibility. But I'm guessing Ralts is the one we're going to actually get.)

I will walk with legendaries (now they only require 5 km!)

The opportunity cost is still the same. For every legendary candy you're sacrificing 4 chansey/larvitar/ralts/bagon/beldum candy. Of course if that's a fair deal to you then ok, that's your preference.

I walk Togepi or Bagon, you can walk whatever you may like. I personally like Bagon because of how rare he is and I want a Salamence

Legendaries. You save 15km/candy. For everything else, the savings just don't come close - 3.75km/candy saved for those who require 5km; don't even talk about the rest.

You walk 20km during the event with a legendary, you get 4 candy and save 15km compared to normal.
You walk 20km during the event with Larvitar, you get 16 candy and save -wait for it- 15km. Exact same distance saved.

The event doesn't change the relations between the different distance buddies, you just gain candy at 4 times the normal rate with whatever you're walking.

The event doesn't change what you should walk, just keep doing what you were doing before the event and enjoy getting to your goal 4 times faster.

That said, I think Larvitar or Chansey would be the top choices for you. You don't have a team of dark Tyranitars yet and I think you want several of both double dark and double rock. Chansey would obviously just be for upgrading your gym defense team, which is probably quite relevant in your area if you care about gold badges.

But... you can catch lots of larvitar during the next Community Day (I can't. ... gotta work :(

So Chansey seems to be OP's best bet.

As for me, I just switched to Salamence. ... now that's one nice looking buddy :)

Comunnity day will not be enough to get all the candy you will need, so I say ttar

Thanks for all the replies!

With 184 Beldum candy, I guess a change in buddy was overdue anyway.

Will be walking Chansey as I want more gold gym badges (and more coins, of course).

If I were you I won't choose Chansey as I did before. Larvitar is the best choice for you. With the gym mechanic at the moment it's not difficult to get 50 coins per da, so decent team of Chansey or Blissey is fine.

Not everywhere, some areas has high turnover, some stagnates

In my original post, I mentioned that I was in such a high-turnover area: "Singapore has among the most competitive gym scenes in the world."

I would go with whatever you would go with normally, the ratio of candys is identical, so you should go with you're standard buddy
