What's Left of Gen 4

We're almost done with what's easily been the slowest rollout yet. By my count we're still missing:

- Burmy line (3)
- Cherubi line (2)
- Shellos line (2)
- Mime Jr.
- Happiny
- Gible line (3)
- Hippopotas line (2)
- Magnezone
- Eeveelutions (2)
- Mamoswine (inbound)
- Probopass
- Rotom

That's still 19 Pokemon not counting Mamoswine. I haven't seen any confirmation of Happiny and Mime Jr. yet despite their appearance in the promo picture. I'm glad we've gotten the new features that have come out this gen, namely Adventure Sync and PvP battles, but why drag out the actual Pokemon so hard? What's sad is even with less than 20 Pokemon to go to clear out the Pokedex - legendary and mythical notwithstanding - I can still see them breaking them up into multiple, slow releases.

Not that hard to guess tbh. We still haven't gotten Clampearl line Keckleon, and Smeargle. Quite a few of the remaining Gen4 mons listed up have a gimmick like the latter three mentioned.

And of course normal families like Gible, and Hippopotas are probably being dragged out for the reasons you mentioned. If we try to be optimistic and say that Niantic isn't dragging the rest out just for the sake of prolonging the release, maybe they're planning some sort of Sinnoh event and plan on releasing them there? Idk. Honestly, I've gotten use to the slow release. It's actually not that bad, but I really do wonder about the true reasoning behind this release.

I know im in the minority on this, but im glad that gible isnt out yet, not missing out on potentially getting the little landshark in -20F windchill is something i'm ok with.

Same here. Also, I don't mind getting more mileage from my current dragons as well. TPC's hard on for legendary and pseudo-legendary dragons overpopulated that niche so I don't mind not having one the very best dragons from here on out just yet.

I personally like what they did for the dragons, that was largely their whole point, to be the biggest and strongest, but their purpose is a much maore main series suited role, in that it takes a long experience grind to actually get them and its got a massive pay off for the pseudo legendaries. that doesnt translate well into GO, its a lot like pokemon that relied very heavily on status moves or their abilities, its a main series component that doesnt exist in GO, and a consequence of this is dragons tend to be super OP

Legnedaries, makes sense a good number of them are dragons because dragons are powerful things, and its just, well easier to make your super powerful thing a giant dragon, it was a game design purpose that exists for the main series.

I always liked the each region having their own dragon, but thats a purely main series thing, in GO im a bit less fond of it as I know one day my dragonite will, despite how absolutely fantastic they are, be likely not longer used, as soemthign even more fantastic comes along. Im glad to get as much use out of my dragons as I can, and hopefully if they ever add main series compatibility, ill be able to give them a home in gen 8

Would you really expect to find one in the wild by hunting for it even if it were released? My experience so far with pseudos other than Dratini has been that you really can't find them by trying. Either you hatch one, or you stumble up on it by accident, they're just that rare.

I really want one to walk with, but I expect it to possibly take a few weeks from release until I get the first one.

Gen 4 over all is a much smaller generation of Pokémon. In the main series they made a lot of the Pokémon difficult to obtain because of how few new ones were added. It would make sense that they take there time since there are only a handful compared Gen 3 where there was a decent amount to roll out. They probably want to release slowly to drag out the release over all so we don’t get bored of the game.

Wanting to eventually match the generation releases of the main series pops out immediately as a possible explanation as to why each gen in POGO has so far been slower to roll out than the one before it. The trend of slowing up is clear up to this point, but we can only guess on the reasons until Niantic says something about it.
