What do you think about the boosted Sky Attack?

Flying isn't the best type in the game and the new Sky Attack isn't the best move either. But what I feel wrong about Sky Attack getting a boost is that it's now the best flying move by a HUGE margin! And I really mean HUGE! Sky Attack was already the best flying type move in the game and boosting Sky Attack doesn't benifit much Pokémon. If Niantic wanted to make Flying a more relevant move, I think they should've boosted Aerial Ace. It is the most famous flying type move and the most used move as well. If that had happened, many Pokémon would have been benifited (not too much because flying type Pokémon are not very strong). What I think is Niantic boosted Sky Attack just as a business policy to attract trainers for the Lugia raid. Well, I actually never liked Sky Attack being a double bar move. It should have been a powerful one hit move! But the irony of life is Niantic just wants to make money however they can. They don't care about making the game good and they do whatever they want.

I know that if we want the game to be good, we need to protest with the hashtags. But nobody cares!

They made machamp an easy solo 3 boss now, that’s for sure. You can beat it with 2 good Lugia and only use 0 or 1 revive.

A counter might be: windy is a pretty rare weather condition. Grass and fire boost might happen 100/100 days this summer (here somewhat summer already).

If you are harrytipper2 with a new acc, i guess we now share the same status then. And i think you are HT2 with a new acc.

Much like Lugia, a weak attacker, has Future Sight, while Metagross, Mewtwo, Latios/Latias, and the other legendary level Psychic mon have Psychic (Future Sight is a flat 20% stronger from the beginning).

Giving Lugia a superior flying move as well as a superior Psychic move partially compensates for the anemic attack stat. Imagine Mewtwo or Latios with Future Sight. Bam, game wrecking strength.

Might have been better marketing to give Lugia a new flying move that's better instead of upgrading the old one.

I already liked Sky Attack so the boost is welcome

I can't believe they didn't give Lugia its signature move, Aeroblast.
And yet here we are, discussing a small buff on Sky Attack.

Well ofc Niantic want to make money anyway they can. Every decision they make is money orientated.

Niantic are the the DCU. They're all about making money and the end product is sub par. They simply throw in A list characters like superman and batman and wait for the money to roll in. Just like Niantic use A list pokemon (legendaries) to earn money.

Justice league didn't perform well at the box office, which tells me moviegoers don't give up their money as blindly as pokemon go players ;)

I have the same problem with McDonald's. All they want to do is make money. I like hamburgers, and I like Filet-O-Fish sandwiches and Shamrock Shakes, but the bastards insist on making a profit. They don't care about fast-food aficianados, they just care about the wonga.

Bastards! How dare they try and make money! What do they think we live in, a Capitalist Society?

They did two things with lugia to attract people to raids (and make more money).

The sky attack thing might serve as a small incentive, especially to trainers who started after Lugia came out originally or who didn't catch one the first time around.

The shiny Lugia (at an increased frequency) is I think the bigger incentive. Even long-time level 40 trainers who have plenty of high IV lugia from the first time around will have the incentive to catch a 100% shiny lugia now

It's important to keep interest in raids as high as possible throughout the tenure of the legendary. What tends to happen is that the hardcore players' interest in a legendary peters off in the last week or so since they've caught their 100% while casual players desperate to catch one with usable IVs can no longer raid without these whales around to form groups.

With the rare incentive of a 100% shiny legendary, the whales (who Niantic really profits off of) might be interested in raiding frequently throughout the entire duration until they catch one.
