Wasn't prepared for jynx

I finally came upon a jynx raid today and I was pleasantly surprised! I couldn't beat it ! I have since powered up my team and I can't wait to try one tomorrow. Level 36 and I don't have any entei or moltres so I had to roll with a team of level 30ish flareon.

What about ttar, houndoom or gengar?

Oh yes, should have mentioned that I went in with just the niantic recommended lineup. I have my sole ttar and sc/sb hangar on my new team. (Along with my four best flareon). All level 35. Sadly, all of my houndoom are dark moves. I am actually very excited for my next jynx encounter!!

Dark is even better. Fire Fang+Fire Blast is already a couple notches down from the best fire moveset. Snarl+Foul Play, if I'm not mistaken, is the current best dark moveset on any pokemon (theoretically it could be bite+foul play but doesn't exist)

EDIT: Dark moves referring to Snarl+Foul Play only, not Crunch

Snarl is much better than Bite. Bite is identical to Dragonbreath, so think of Bite/Snarl as Dragonbreath/Dragon Tail, the difference being Snarl is balanced energy/damage and Dragon Tail favors damage

This is weird...could've sworn I have seen a comment for Arcanine that Bite beats Snarl, and by extension I inferred it for Houndoom

Mate, but Hondoom with dark moves are even better than fire ;)

The mixed moveset of FF/FP is best according to sims, just like against Exeggutor. Small difference to S/FP though.

Houndoom is a great shout as it resisting both ice and psychic, although from the psychic side it will probably still be worse than Ttar

Flareons- do they have fire spin and overheat? If you're fighting an exclusively ice Jynx, it doesn't get much better than that for non-legendaries. Ttar and houndoom could be on the slower end, and end up marginal, but they still beat the clock.

My goal tommorow is to find a Jynx. I'm glad it's a bit of a challenge

A team of level 30ish Flareon should be able to do it with dodging, especially if they were recommended which means they resist whatever charge move the boss has. Good luck on your next attempt, from the comments it seems like your team is ready and you should beat the raid handily.
