Type effectiveness multiplier change

Super effective is now x1.6 , Not very effective is x0.625
I like it.
What do you think?
Super Effective (SE) 1.6
SE 2x 2.56
Not very Effective (NvE) 0.625
NvE 2x 0.390625
NvE 3X 0.2444140625

Do you have a source? I would love to read more about this, because this is very serious and make raids even easier (if it is applied to that aswell).

Does this mean the end of generalists? Any place for SB Mewtwo when it is not SE?

I was thinking theres no place for gengar any more, its weak to ghost and psychic, the two types its meant to counter.

SB mewtwo will still have a place though likely not as large of a one as it did before.

"Are these changes only active in PvP or everywhere? Everywhere. Pokemon GO uses only one type efficiency object to determine type advantages in every Pokemon combat scenario."

So....type reistance and effectiveness matters a lot more?

This could explain why my Ttar at full HP died to one Dynamic Punch from Machamp

I see two outcomes of this. For one, by making SE moves more rewarding and penalizing NVE moves it encourages players to actually learn type matchups instead of smashing through things with something less than optimal. For two, 1.6 * 0.625 = 1, meaning we won't see "not very effective" displayed for moves that end up dealing neutral damage due to one type resisting it and another being weak to it, such as electric attacks against Zapdos.

Jeez, I figured the super effectives attacks were already powerful enough. I would've left them at x1.4, and lowered the resitence to where it is now.
So while yes it's important to know atk type advantage, it's more of a race to see who gets the super effective pokemon out first : /

So, exactly like the main series?

There's a point where people gotta learn the basics of the game. I don't know how prevalent it still is in other places but I do not miss the days of raiding with randos and seeing them use sub-par counters because they can't be assed to learn type effectiveness. PoGo is simple enough, penalizing people who are unwilling to learn and utilize type effectiveness and rewarding those who do isn't a bad thing. It comes off as dickish but whatever.
