I second this great work. We may have points where we disagree but it's pretty accurate. I'm more excited to see the new attackers list to see what new attackers cracked the list tbh. But I'll wait patiently for that one and enjoy this list for now lol! Great content free of charge who can complain.

This is not a question...just a note of thanks.
I just wanted to show appreciation for the hard work the GamePress team has put in to develop the Defender Tier list.
We have all been patiently waiting for it (some not as patient as others) to help decide what to power up for gym defence.

Hi, this is dondon151, main tier list contributor here. Thanks for your consideration and kind words.
It seems that there are some grumblings about how I am an idiot for placing Rhydon so high, or something similar to that effect. Let me address that here.
The main complaint against Rhydon is that it is countered by Vaporeon and Exeggutor, therefore it is bad. Then there is the contention that Vaporeon, for example, is better, or the implicit assumption that Dragonite is better.
So what about Dragonite being countered by ice-types, or Vaporeon being countered by Dragonite, or Lapras being countered by Machamp?
In terms of defender quality, the numbers suggest that Rhydon and Vaporeon are about equal. The only difference is max CP.
Hi dondon! Nice to see you again. First of all I really appreciate your work. Your list is, IMO, better than any other one available online, serving as a great reference to people who are new to the game.
I've been a royal reader of GP since the launch, and I am also one of the ppl who advocate that Rhydon should be 1-2 Tier lower. At the very least, he should be within the same Tier as Vape.
But I'm not here to convince you, nor won't I even try to do so. I'm simply here to thank you for your effort and hope to see your attacker list soon! TBH, I trust your attacker list far more than defender list :)

As for Rhydon...I can see both sides of it. Sure, like anything that has a weakness, when you attack it with it's weakness it appears to be weak - imagine that.
However, get caught attacking it with something 'neutral' and then you soon find how strong it can be (in comparison to other mons)
It is a far more robust list than most others on line, and we can take from it what we want.
