I have a hunch that whatever special research we get for the Gen 3 mythicals will involve evolving a Feebas given Niantic's love of throwing special* evolutions in the requirement mix. Assuming (because I'm not at 4/8 or 5/8) Eevee need to be freshly walked 10k after the research starts, what are the odds we'll have to freshly walk all 20k as part of a special research task? I'd considered walking a Feebas in prep but now I'm not sure.
*The only "evolve" research involving a specific Pokemon for Mew was Magikarp. I'm considering it a special evolution since 400 candy was a unique requirement until Wailmer/Swablu came along.
Makes sense, I think it is a very reasonable possibility. I've got a pre-walked feebas already sitting there (planned on evolving but never got around to it for some reason), but they could force our hands and make a task "walk 20k with feebas" like with what we believe for eevee, but I'm not evolving just in case.
On a similar note, I'm keeping all my wailmer and swablu from evolving incase they do that.
I actually walked 2 diferent eevee. The first one was walked for 12 km, but as soon as I moved to task 4/8 I realized that 12 km was not counted, so I switched to the second one. When the second one reached 5 km that 'walking an eevee' quest was said to have completed, so I switched back to the first one and evolved it into espeon.
