Special trade advice - 1200 stardust for 6 legendary candies?
Is it worth it to trade with ultra friends for legendary pokemon candies? Thanks to the trade event, we can get as many as 6 candies costing only 1200 stardust for legendary pokemon.

I've traded a legendary for a legendary every single day since luckies introduced, never a lucky result. Best bet is to trade a level 20 or level 15 (or Regice), something you won't miss bc likely you are just trashing it for candy. Once I got a level 23 Kyogre that went from 2600 to 2628 (not lucky, but attack went to 15 and defense down to something like 7)
It seems to me that the way to do this is to trade a legendary for a very old pokemon, and then do the same thing the other way. Pick the legendaries that you want to trade, and then choose which old pokemon you want to exchange. That gives both of you a much better shot at a legendary, as long as you trust each other to follow through on the second trade.
Yes, this is the exact strategy that I am following. I am trading away legendaries for old Mons (mostly from 2016) in return. I try to maximize my candy return by performing distant trades, but this is not always possible. This is not so important during the current event with 3+ candy for all trades, but will be more important when the trade event has ended. The legendaries I trade away are "trash" anyway, they were just sitting in my box waiting for the next double candy event to be transferred. Of the legendaries I have sent, one Mewtwo and two Kyogres have turned lucky, the receiver was of course happy. I have received some cool stuff in return such as a lucky legacy Dragonite (dragon breath) and a lucky legacy Omastar (double rock) so I am not complaining.
I've been trying to trade legendary for legendary the last 2 days and the trade says it will only be giving 1 candy- no bonus candy from the event. Whenever I try doing a legendary trade the candy reward is always just 1 candy. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
(edit: Ah, they were using old moltres/articuno from field missions before locations were being added to those, mystery solved!)
