Games getting a bit boring though. Just the same thing over and over again.
IVs should play a bigger part of the game. If a good IV kingdra/electrode/skarmory/milotic could be on par with tyranitar/dragonite/blissey the game would be a lot more broader. Its still difficult to find a good IV electrode/skarmory so it wouldn't make the game easy.
Instead: same team as usual
I do not agree with increasing the importance of IV, people already treat it as the most important thing regarding a pokemon. When it actually only plays a minor roll after species, typing, move set and level are set.
But I certainly agree that the counters need to be more varied. Making more mons viable should be a priority at Niantic, not as present slowly reducing them.
IVs are already a glorified pissing contest, to give them significant meaning would make it worse. Not to mention, if IVs could become large enough to make Pokemon like Kingdra/Electrode/Skarmor/Milotic compete with a standard Tyranitar/Dragonite/Blissey then imagine those last three with IVs as high as the first four. People wouldn't stop using the powerhouses, they'd just find higher-IV ones again.
What I've seen mentioned before as an interesting idea would be to adjust power-up costs relative to the Pokemon's base stat total - why does a Sandslash cost the same to power up as Groudon? The main series already does this with different exp. curves from one Pokemon to the next. Maybe some Pokemon would be considered more useful with lesser dust/candy costs. Resources are already a consideration with legendaries since rare candy supplies can be harder to stockpile compared to individual candy supplies.
Agreed, but it is understandable why they dont make them too varied, if people spend all this time preparing for say soemthing like Rhydon with grass types, then all the raids went to something like poison, fire and bug, they're get screwed over, they keep the raids similar to not make players work wasted, but I agree, it should be more varied
Its just like ith machamp being good against most raids, I like the fact that most raids are weak to shared types/have a common counter, so if you can counter one, you can have an easier time with others
But I agree, it does decrease the diversity in the raid bosses, the alolan's arent too good, save for Eggtree
