Smeargle photobombing?

So, the update is out and we can take pictures of our pokemon wherever we like, with presumably a small chance of Smeargle photobombing the picture, which might or might not lead to an encounter, etc.

Anyone experience this yet? Would like to have some idea what to expect, and what photos give the best chance for getting Smeargle.

If that's indeed how Smeargle appears (which seems likely from what they've teased), its a feature they haven't turned on yet.

I don't think it's been turned on yet. There haven't been any reports of anyone encountering a Smeargle yet. I would hope to see it by the end of the week.

That was my suspicion, that they have the camera working, get the kinks out of that, and then let Smeargle do his thing later. Thanks.

I'm going to expand on this by asking who else would we expect to encounter via photobomb? Kecleon seems like another likely candidate. Mr. Mime is shown in the loading screen and it losing its regional status is something that's always been kind of suspect thanks to the Mime Jr. situation, so that strikes me as another potential.

Saw a post about Mr. Mime going global, but it was in badly broken english, and didn't seem credible. Do we have a credible source for Mr. Mime going world wide?

AFAIK we don't, but it's a very likely assumption due to it having a yet to be released baby. I doubt Niantic would introduce Mime Jr. as a regional baby, and that alone means Mr. Mime would be available globally.

I've just caught one after he photobombed my Zapdos. Had the same moves as Zapdos too.

I kind of guessed this was how it would work. It's actually a pretty nice nod to it being capable of learning another Pokemon's known moves in the main series and I'm sure this was easier to implement over some Sketch mechanic.

My two questions now are 1) is it AR+ exclusive or can it be found in regular AR mode and 2) if it photobombs a Pokemon with two charge moves will it learn both of them?

Next question - does each player only get one, or can you have many? Not that it's useful for anything, but being able to give it any moves makes it interesting that way. Double moves? Or suppose you get one move, can you buy a second move, or would it always be Smeargle's default charged move?

You always get one move and you can't buy another (cost 999999 smeargle candy for a second move). Reports say you can only get one per day.

It gets only one charge move

Smeagle photobombing?

FWIW, choosing Ditto to get photobombed got me the quick attack Bubble (not transform), and Charged attack Struggle (same as Ditto). We'll see what the next few days bring, but the CD moves, Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball, Dragon Breath/Dragon Claw are all in the cards.
