Second Charge Move on Gym Defenders...
I got to thinking if someone had dust to burn and added a second charge move on a gym defender, say Milotic, for coverage....has anyone experimented with the AI to see if the defender is intelligent enough to use the proper move against an attacker? Example, would a Milotic with Blizzard and Surf in a gym use the more effective charge move (Blizzard) against Dragonite as opposed to vs Entei?

I tested it a couple hours in when it first came out. It was random throughout the fight. It will use both moves in a single battle though.
Before I knew how it charged them I had hoped they would charge independently so they could spam different moves. That would have made defending gyms much better!
*Before reading my reply, take this comment with a grain of salt. Niantic could've changed that since then (I tested this couple of days after the 2nd charge moves came out). I haven't tested with it too much so don't take my comment too seriously.* I tested this with someone that had an Alolan Raichu with Wild Charge and Psychic. I battled with Pokemon that are weak to psychic or weak to electric and Pokemon that resist one or the other. The type of the Pokemon did NOT had an effect at all. The results were like that, it seems that a Pokemon will use his first original charge move and after using it (regardless if he fainted after using the original one), he will use the second next time he charges it. It doesn't matter if you start a new battle after completing the first one, he will use it. It seems that Pokemon with 2 charge moves will use them in order and not randomly. I did NOT test this with a 3 bar charge move, but I'm almost certain that it would still be in order. More testing should be done before any serious conclusions can be made. This is only part of my own personal testing.
