Ryperior second charge move
I accidentaly gave my rhyperior a second charge move. Now that he has two charge moves i would love to hear your input about what the ideal moveset for him would be.
As of now its fast move is smack down followed with surf and earthquake as its charge moves. I was curious as to what would be its ideal moveset. Should I TM smackdown to mudslap or earthquake to stone edge? I think it's a good idea to give him either full rock or ground coverage. Or is he doing well as he currently is?
Something worth mentioning is that I dont have any strong ground pokemon (hopefully can get a good groudon to fix that)

Rhyperior is not built for PvP; Its typing is horrendous for it and its fast moves have very subpar energy gain there. You don't need to worry about type coverage with Surf since Rhyperior shouldn't be used in PvP.
You essentially want to give it Stone Edge and Earthquake then toggle its fast move depending on which raid boss you're sending it against.
Agree, with the caveat that Surf is a strong PvP move that can surprise foes. Best use is Ground/Rock.
One of my pals who played all the console games claims to be 99.99% certain that Rhyhorn will have a CD with Rock Wrecker as the special move, which should take the crown of best Rock attacker from Ttar with ease. So for now, focusing on Ground for Rhyperior makes a lot of sense.
Breloom and Gengar leave me hard pressed to say if something is ineligible for an exclusive move pool buff, but I still don't see it happening for Rhyperior despite it having a main series signature attack. The requirement of an item to evolve seems like a complication Niantic won't want to work around. I know everyone and their mother has ideas on how it could work but speculation doesn't always lead to reality.
This is the best answer I've got for mine as well.
During the short Ho-Oh return I complemented my Dual-Rock Ttar team with Smack Down / Stone Edge Rhyperior for duo challenge, then I bought Earthquake as 2nd attack when Heatran arrived and switched through Fast TM to complement my Groudon team. It's really very effective way of playing with Rhyperior, and even though it's still a 2nd fiddle to both Rock and Ground types it's just awesome for its versatility.
One may argue that it's Fast TM intensive, but that's so untrue: you need one such profile for like a month, enough to collect other FTM's, and definitely easier than using CTM's or maxing out independent ones. Ttar itself would be on the same boat for Dark and Rock if Smack Down wasn't legacy.
