Rarest Move Sets

Calling all scarcity fans! As a change of pace to the standard Q&A fare, I humbly submit a rarity challenge.

Of the Pokemon you currently have, do any of them have moves that you wouldn't expect another trainer to have? Legacy moves are probably the only ones with a decent chance but useless legacy moves undoubtedly have the best chance.

My top 5 candidates:
1. Starmie with Quick Attack
2. Voltorb with Signal Beam
3. Doduo with Swift
4. Gastly with Sucker Punch & Ominous Wind
5. Zubat with Sludge Bomb

So...are there other trainers out there who set aside a tiny portion of their Pokemon storage for the rarest move sets? If so, what are your top candidates for scarcity? And does anyone have mons with the same moves as my top 5 contenders?

I actually have a few, but my favourite one is Fury Cutter/Earthquake Nidoking. I caught him last winter I believe - he was level 30 already, and when I caught him I was surprised to learn he had 15 ivs in attack and defense (10 in stamina). I was a bit disappointed when I found out that the moveset was very poorly rated on gamepress, but I still kept him, even though I was considering transfering. Now that the raid battles are happening, you can find Nidoking with this particular moveset listed as a counter to electric bosses, and I've already used him a few times. Fury cutter generates energy quite well and then you can just spam Earthquake. I'm really glad that I ended up keeping him.

Me too - an evolved 91% hatch that I haven't powered up. With 1278CP perhaps it would have been good for prestiging...

I've got two 96% Nidokings with Fury Cutter / Megahorn. Great vs. Exeggutor?

I thought my Starmie had a chance since QA was removed from its move pool within 7 weeks of the game's release. It's my only Pokemon with a move available in PoGo but no other game.

After a quick check I have 2, 3 and 5 from above. Also a Nidoking with FC/EQ that I am finally using.
On the "not very useful" side I have a Spearow with twister and a Meowth with body slam!

I have a Fearow with Twister, but I'd bet your Spearow with Twister is rarer. Body Slam Meowth seems like a good candidate too.

With a team that includes 2, 3, and 5, as well as that Spearow and Mewoth, I have to imagine you're often near full storage capacity.

Yes! My pokemon storaged is maxed out and I am always struggling. I am a keeper

I don't know how rare they are, but I have five that both moves are legacy.
D'nite DB/DP
Charizard Ember/Ft
Dewgong Ice Shard/AquaJet
2 X Machamp KC/Submission

I'd bet that Dewgong has the best odds of being rare. I don't have yours but do have an Ice Shard / Icy Wind one, which is the other double-legacy set for Dewgong.

Psybeam Chansey....lvl1
Mud Shot Diglett
Mud Shot Dugtrio

I have MANY other legacy movesets, but these are what I believe to be the rarer of them all.

The fact that your Chansey is Lvl1 makes it my personal favorite of everything I've seen here. It makes me wonder how many of those exist at Lvl1. If there are fewer than 10k, yours has a decent chance of being the only specimen out there with whatever particular IV combination it has.

Togetic with legacy Steel Wing, only available if hatched during Christmas event and walked to evolve prior to Gen2 dropping. I've seen one other person post they had this move set.
