Q about Blissey
Answers
No it's called sunk cost fallacy. Basically the incorrect belief that you've already invested too much to stop.
Just because you have already invested 50 candies into evolving those Chansey doesn't justify further investing into it if you don't need a powered Blissey.
Or another example if you care about IVs. Early into the game before you knew about IVs, you evolve a low level and low IV Dratini that also has SW + HB. Would you invest in it further or would you cut your losses?
By your logic you would power it up and TM it because you've already evolved it.
I completely disagree. Blisseys are still a pain in the arse to battle. Yesterday morning, I placed my +3000 CP Blissey in a gym and I saw that it won 4 battles within the first couple of minutes. Whoever was trying to take down that gym didn't have a strong enough Pokemon to take down my Blissey. Then that gym turned into a raid boss gym. All the other Pokemon in the gym fell except for my Blissey. Blisseys are still useful in areas where there is high turnovers in gyms. Like where I live. If I hatch a high IV Chancey during this event, I will definitely power it up to 3000 CP. Blissey is still the best and only defender in the gym worth spending precious stardust on. Why? Because of COINS.
Yes that's for you, but who would want a mon in a gym for more than 8 hours? Not everyone's gyms turn over like that. Not the best use of a mon per day if ur looking to get coins imo. You probably have all whatever badges already. A level 20 blissey has a better chance at getting knocked out that day, so you can get the coins and put her in another gym.
Edit: to add, but I do have to admit I love putting my 58 IV, level 28 wild caught dragonite or gyarados in your gyms because they will likely be in there a few hours and come home later to power up. Those are the ones I like!
Who said anything about having a Pokemon in more than 8 hours? I live in a high turnover area, so I really need a high CP Blissey to get my 50 coins for the day. It doesn't always grant me all 50 coins, but it sure as hell gets me a high percentage of them. Every single day my Blisseys get knocked out of gyms, but not after they've brought with them a nice amount of coins. Obviously you want to put as many Pokemon in gyms as you can to protect yourself, if one of your Pokemon gets knocked out of the gym fast. Luckily for me, there is a bunch of gyms on my way to work in the morning that I can put my Pokemon in. Whenever there is open spot, I always look to put my two Blisseys.
Max it out and TM it to Zen Headbutt with Dazzling Gleam. I have two maxed out Blisseys for my level, 36, and even before I leveled up a few days ago, lots of players still couldn't even take them down.
Since the Raid system was implemented, TOO MANY people have leveled up fast at the cost of 10,000 XP per $1. Lots of Level 37-40 players in my area now that still can't even take them down as soon as I place them in gyms. I'm eventually going to evolve and max out my 93% Chansey since it will also break 3100 CP.
Now that we have 3 gyms with EX Raids in our city, it's even easier for gym control to get those extra balls for Mewtwo.
Thanks. Got lucky on my hatches. That highest CP Blissey is actually my oldest Pokémon too. Hatched it a week later once the game released so I've raised it since it was a really low level. Walked one for 200 kms then the Valentine event helped out a lot for candies. Probably threw close to 100 rare candies into them now too since they're so expensive to power up and I don't feel like walking one again. Def worth the investment though if you're looking for something secure in a really high turn over rate.
Valentines event, when it was double candy and pink everywhere...my area was painted with them.
I couldn't walk 100 metres without running into a couple of them.
It is the one time my biome has been the preferred biome and so I made the most of it.
I am still sitting on around 600 candy - so now I cringe like it is a Mantine every time I hatch one (which is often)
Blissey even spawn around here sometimes.
