Psycho Cut or Confusion for FB Mewtwo?

I just got myself a 15/15/15 Mewtwo and i'm planning to use it against gyms with Focus Blast.

Question is which move would pair better with FB Mewtwo against gyms? Thanks.

OMG!! You're so lucky!
Anyways I think Psycho Cut is better because Fighting is effective against the Normal-type defenders but Psychic is not, and PC builds up energy faster. With it, you can also dodge Slaking's PR easier.

Hands down PC for gymming with FB. Confusion not great to dodge with, PC allows you to skip round defenders while building up a FB plus the energy gain is greater. Still not worked out whether I prefer Machamp or not but Mewtwo is certainly fun to use. Grats on the 100 👍

Congrats on the perfect Mewtwo! PC pairs better with FB for easier dodging and higher DPS against Normal-types.

Actually, C/FB has a bit higher DPS against normal types than PC/FB. The faster energy gain of PC does not compensate for the much higher DPS of confusion.

With that said, I still prefer PC on my FB Mewtwo, because it makes dodging so much easier, which is useful for chewing through multiple normal-type defenders.

Congrats on the hundo!

For a focus blast Mewtwo, I think Psycho Cut and Confusion can be pretty interchangeable, as both moves have their merits.

Psycho Cut is very quick, allowing you to dodge easily, which you'll probably want to do when the defender starts firing off charge moves. Plus, it has high energy gain, so you'll charge Focus Blast at a faster rate. It's damage output is very mediocre, however. Against bulkier Mons, you'll barely even notice Psycho Cut putting a dent in them.

Confusion is essentially the opposite of Psycho Cut. It hits like a truck, so it will actually do noticeable damage against gym defenders. Since it's a more powerful move, it means you won't be as reliant on firing off Focus Blast for your overall damage output as Confusion will put in plenty of work on it's own. That said, it's a slow move, making dodging much trickier, and it gains less energy than Psycho Cut does.

TL;DR: Pick Psycho Cut if you want a move that's quick and has high energy gain. Pick Confusion if you want a move that hits really hard.
