Is Psychic Mewtwo actually safe?

When you read about the top attacker per type on this site it states that Mewtwo is and will continue to be the top of psychic type dps across all generations and would only be outclassed by itself with a new move or a mega evolution.

With that said how likely is it that Mewtwo receives psystrike?

How likely is it that niantic keeps psystrike the same and choose not to buff it? Given that as it stands its currently inferior to psychic.

And finally what are the odds of Psychic receiving a buff?

Which scenario is more likely to occur in your opinion?

The reason I am asking is because of Deoxys, whose signature move is psycho boost. Once it was in the game code it seemed like a horrible move, but everyone thought they would change its stats. This did not happen. This has me thinking that since mewtwo received 3 different moves for the ultra bonus that if he ever does receive psystrike it will be in its current form.

Thoughts?

Only Niantic know the answer for that.
As for Psychic usefullness, right now it is none..
All the hitmon are gone, and it is not very interesting raid to be honest, unless you wanna test your squad against them or bragging right, kind a like soloing claydoll witthout weather boost advantage with unique pokemons.
Machamp is finally not in the raid, and for beating Machamp you dont need Mewtwo, for time attack mode yes, but if you just want to win it is not necesarry..

Yes, it's safe... for now. Not forever. If you think that it took Mewtwo a year to come to regular raids and there's a lot of content to be added in the next year (gen 4, PvP) you may assume that psychic Mewtwo will be safe for nearly a year before Niantic needs to bring it back to keep us engaged.

Will it outclass itself in a distant future? Yes, it's safe to assume that. My personal advice: powering up one psychic Mewtwo is safe and will be usable even when psystrike outclasses it. Just one.

Releasing Psystrike as an inferior move doesn't make financial sense. Why would people get excited about the signature move and spend on raid passes if all they're getting is a Mewtwo that's worse than what they already had?

I would expect the move to get buffed before they release it. Deoxys isn't a good comparison because this was its first release and Niantic likely knew it's too glassy to be meta-relevant in Pogo.
