Pokestop Submission is Coming

Brace yourselves, lads. To anyone familiar with Ingress OPR, get ready for loads of "my house :^)" submissions.

Those obviously bad submissions aren't actually that bad. You can pretty much see instantly that you can give it 1 star and click next. Doesn't tax the system too bad because they filter out really quickly.

I hope they see with the beta test that they need to do some things differently. The ingress system just isn't going to be sustainable in pogo due to the larger playerbase and the different cell restrictions.

I joke about the bad submissions but I'd honestly try to get my apartment building submitted as a stop. In my defense, the building either is or was in the National Register of Historic Places which has a little more merit than some POI I've seen as stops.

Unfortunately as a residential building it has absolutely no chance of being accepted as the building itself. Although if it has a plaque that acknowledges it being in the register, that plaque might very well get accepted. OPR has a gigantic hardon for plaques.

As fate would have it there is. Now that you mention it, I have noticed that about plaques. I've been to parks and bike paths littered with "In memoriam" benches that ended up becoming Pokestop havens.

OPR seems to have a thing for murals as well, which makes it all the more amusing when you see a stop for a mural that's since been painted over.

Yeah murals are good and public sports facilities, especially outdoor seem to be automatic accepts in many areas as well. You should absolutely try that plaque of yours when submissions become available.

I hope this way I can get accepted really good pokestops in parks that are currently being rejected. The largest parks in my city could be great spots for CD, events or daily gameplay but they are lacking stops and spawn points.

Yes, we have a big park right next to campus that doesn't have a single pokéstop in it, let alone a gym. That needs to be rectified. Campus also seems to be divided into a side with a lot of stops, and a side with none. High time something like this happened.

Also means all the time I spent playing Ingress to get to level 10 (still at 7) was kind of wasted. But, also means I can quit now. Focus on getting to level 40 (1.55 mil XP away) before this goes live in the US.

Hope it isn't a total disaster.

In all honesty you can probably get to level 10 way before this goes live in the US if you have access to any kind of a decent portal density. It'll take quite a while for them to collect data, I suspect we won't see the area expanded in a few months. That is of course if they stick to collecting data, they could always rush ahead and expand the test with incomplete data on even the first area.
