Before people power things close to arena caps, what do you have closest to 2500 or 1500 cp?

Guess I got lucky with two of my 9 Metagross being able to hit 2499. What will be one of your lower level staples?

Some decent options here.

My 1500 page is less than inspiring. I need to engineer some miniature giants.

I think I have a MM Metagross below the 1500 cutoff as well as a couple 98% BB Charizard.

I haven't powered anything up yet.

Sableye maxes at 1476...when I get a shiny! Not really, but I guess Shadow Claw/Foul Play would trash somebody's level 16 Mew.

Doesn't look that great so far I guess.

Why not just battle in the unlimited cp one? The other 2 are for low level players, isnt it? Or did i miss something?

There have been countless show your first page threads on this message board...players in my city might lose but a few of them will say, "I have 300 rare candy and 3mil stardust." Or: "I'm waiting for 98-100% before I power _____ up." (Not every player plays hardcore DPS+TDO, a better matchup might be the lesser matchup).

***I'll probably pick 3 of these in the unlimited area

You missed a lot. These lower CP tiers create a much wider opportunity of participation for weaker Pokemon to compete, thus expanding the pool for a very interesting meta (in theory). These arenas are where a bad IVs Cresselia may find actually be a good choice and the Regis might find some great usability.
The unlimited one will probably just become an extension or offshoot of the current gym/raid meta, of which a lot of players are tired to exhaustion. All the usual suspects will reign supreme now and forever so almost no one is showing evident excitement over it because the most requested overhaul aspect of the battle system has always been a method to diversify our options (by implementing abilities, status effects, you name it). Since CP is a simplification of stats that help indicate general strength, limiting tiers by CP will help standardize which species will be eligible to battle simply because some powerhouses like Mewtwo or the weather trio won't have that much of an advantage over considerably weaker foes that can reach similar strength (albeit at much higher levels) when limited to a certain max CP cut off.
So basically no one is talking about the unlimited one because many perceive it already as the presumably "boring" and "predictable" option. I already have legions of Pokemon that I will be able to use right away on the Unlimited tier, whereas I can inject some new excitement into the game by preparing top-dog teams for the lower tiers

Basically it gives turbo nerds a chance to beat on newbies and returning players....that’s why all the excitement about the lower CP leagues

I think the unlimited CP battles will probably be the most boring out of them. The CP limitations might let us use pokemon that would normally not be good, which seems interesting.

Spiritomb at level 25 to 25.5 hits very close to 1500cp. Has Shadowball. Resistant to fighting and only really weak to fairy. As we have heard 1000 times...THERE IS NO FAIRY FAST MOVE:(:(:(

Wait, what? No Fairy fast move? This is some kind of joke, right?

(Sorry, joke is on us, and Niantic is laughing.)

Wigglytuff with PR would probably wreck SB Spiritomb thoroughly. No matter if the fast move isn't SE if the charge move is and you double resist the opponent's charge move as well.

I have a beldum that would be 1500 post evolution, but when I was looking at pogo tweets, one of them said "<1500", so I was afraid to pull the trigger. I hate how they were sloppy with the language, but I've still got one around 1490.

Mayb having a 1200 cp mon is better that that same mon at 1500 cp at least for the victor. I dunno. Eager beaver and over committed repeatedly get burned in pgo. I'm waiting this out.
