Moveset Rating 'X'

Hi Gamepress staff (or anyone who has an idea):

If there is an X listed in a moveset rating for attacking or defending, is it simply unavailable due to it still being a work in progress, or is it just too bad to be included on the scale?

I would guess they are just that bad in comparison to the other movesets available, that they are not worthy of ranking.

It would be nice to get verification from the powers that be.

It's a new thing we're trying out. If a moveset would be ranked below C, then it will show X instead.

There was a lot of wasted effort and quibbling over exactly how bad the worst movesets were, especially for Pokemon like Gyarados who have 20 possible sets.

The latter one. Literally every moveset that are ranked below C is rated as 'X'. But I also see some Gen 3 pokemon having D grade movesets. Most Gen 1 and Gen 2 pokemon are probably not updated as they don't have moveset changes.

Many of the X ratings are also movesets that could not occur together without using a TM, such as Gyarados having Waterfall and Twister. Really no point in assigning something like that a grade.

Dragon Tail / Twister has a rating for defence - and that is 2 different Legacy sets together.
...I only noticed as I have made one

Because they are X rank garbage.
