Mewtwo team line-up

Prepping for Mewtwo, I have about a million dust and keeping rare candies above a hundred just in case. My team is going to be:
Dragonite: DT/HU
2x Tyranitar: B/SE
Tyranitar: B/C
Snorlax: L/HB
Gyarados: B/C

Not sure what to do if Mewtwo has Focus Blast and with my luck it will.

Put the SE Tyranitars first, make sure they get at least one special off before fainting if you're against Focus Blast. You don't want to switch in a Tyranitar just as Mewtwo uses Focus Blast, you might miss out on damage bonus seeing as Tyranitar's got the highest DPS of your 6 Pokemon (assuming equal levels)

If you're worried about Focus Blast then change Snorlax to another Gyarados or Dragonite if you have one, since it's another Pokemon that's also weak to fighting.

If you've got 3 Tyranitars and 3 Pokemon resistant to fighting, the raid is going to be quite easy because Tyranitar resists all of the other moves, and if it doesn't, then you've still got half a team that can last the rest of the battle once all 3 Tyranitars faint, and also still deal damage to make sure you get extra balls.

I'll just pop in with 5 dragonite and a Blissey as Dragonite doesn't get wrecked by any move in particular.

Why the Blissey tho friend :(

Rather put a Gyarados or anything to give damage and wait it out instead of pretending to do something with her..

If you aren't going to make it with just 6 pokemon, it is better to back out after your first few pokemon faint, heal and reselect, then jump back in with all good pokemon.

I have a good lineup, but I'm still going in with a dummy squad...Shadowball Gengar, ShB Alakazams, Bug Scizors, Crunch Houndooms, 3k B/HP Gyarados. When we get 40% to 50% through I'm letting the computer pick my real players (Tyranitars and/or Dragonites). I seriously don't trust the competence of the players here, the only ones I do trust are players I've seen in gyms everyday the past 10 months (and I now recognize). Even they may be tempted to double blissey anchor. ****Have some options, these dark types plus 4 big Dragonites and 4 big Bite Gyarados, 2 bug Scizors, a bug Pinsir, SC/ShB Gengar

Two squads of 6 attackers.

Against Non-Focus Blast
9 Ttar B/C
3 Scizors FC/XS

Against Focus Blast
6 TTar B/C
3 Dnite DT/O
3 Gyarados B/C

I may adjust down the amount of TTar and increase Dnites and Gyarados depending on how many people in the raid. If anyone have better suggestions let me know. I've been building an army of Mewtwo counters months before the first raid ever came out.

9 TTars?!?!!??! Do you live in a rock biome or something? Also jealous of all the stardust it must've taken to power everything up

I went HAM during the rock event. Also, Tyranitar raids gave plenty of candies. And the double everything event gave me shitload of dust.

No adjustment needed. That's good.

You can run two Ttars first then come in with 3/3 Dragons and Ttars. If y'all don't get it it's your raidmates not you.

Folks are super worried about FB. They should be worried about the ghost move special which is brutal as hell and the fact your raidmates are unlikely to have Ttars. All those off brand counters will get rolled and if you are among a bunch of "good" counters it will likely be bloodier than any FB moveset if he has confusion.

Five Tyranitars and nine Dragons all over 35.

Wow,

JHVS: Out of curiosity, what is lowest IV of the 5 ttars you powered up? I've got enough candies and dust to add 2 more ttars to equal 4 but feeling conflicted about spending too much on 14/13/14 and 15/13/13 IV. 13 attack on both.

Two are 91 but have a high ATT stat. Notably both were before raids and TMs where moveset was king.

To counter mewtwo, I put my attackers like this:

  1. Tyranitar-CP3595 with B/C
  2. Tyranitar-CP3596 with B/SE
  3. Gyarados-CP3172 with B/HP
  4. Scizor-CP2508 with FC/XS
  5. Houndoom-CP2451 with S/FP
  6. Forretres-CP2201 with BB
