Maximum Type Coverage Gym Battle Party

Which Pokemon would you use in a BP to cover as many types as possible, if not all?

Edit: I've decided to use
SD/SE Tyranitar
C/CC Heracross
FC/LB Sceptile
C/SB Mewtwo
BP/MM Metagross
FS/BB Charizard
for now, covering every Pokemon that comes to my mind except single type electric's, which could be handled by Sceptile, since it atleast resists their attacks (though not covering every single type). Using Pokemon with multi bar moves and with future mega evolutions were additional factors for me. And yes, I don't want Machamp in my BP because I'm sick of seeing it all the time :s
Though never being able to mega evolve, I guess I'll switch Tyranitar out for Rampardos if it releases because of it's multi bar charge move and superior dps

Thank you for your answers!

Machamp, MM Metagross, Raikou, FP Venusaur, C/DG Gardevoir, C/SB Mewtwo should have a pretty good coverage, but it's not an optimal attacking team if you expect gyms to have all 3 of the big normals at high level and motivation.

Thanks!
I know. Luckily, I don't live in a "competitive" area and just want to have a strong, but also diverse team to make gyms a little more interesting for me - my old gym team used to have 3 Machamp, SB Mewtwo, DC Dragonite and Raikou in it, but I don't feel like I need those Machamps anymore and want some variety

If you want fun in gyms use things like starters, shinies and new mons. Going in with mewtwos metagrosses are straight massacre and no fun . just IMO.

I started doing things like this to break up the monotony. Did a Sneasel raid yesterday with a Primeape and Hitmonlee

I feel like a legacy Tyranitar in place of the Raikou offers better type coverage. Raikou isn't strong into many types, and I think all of those types are covered by your venusaur + the replacement Tyranitar. Then Rock offers additional coverage to fire, which you currently have nothing for (and while fire types don't really feature much on defense, he did ask for the most type coverage). Also gives you coverage for dragonite and Salamance which you currently don't have (since their dragon resistance cancels the flying weakness to electric, but not to rock).

Yes, but Rock Tyranitar covers both, Raikou's and Gardevoirs Jobs (Fighting is already handled by C/SB Mewtwo), leaving an additional slot for something like Charizard or Flying Rayquaza to cover grass, which otherwise would'nt be covered

The most important grass mon is Venusaur, which Mewtwo covers, but you are right. Charizard would be a great addition.

I thought about it, and you are right in that it gives better coverage if optimal coverage is the only thing we are going for. But rock Tyranitar is also horrible to fight gyms with due to the low energy gain of SD and SE being single bar, so I filtered it out. I don't really consider any mon with a 1-bar charge move to be a viable gym fighter, except maybe FB Mewtwo.

i think, you can use, what you like

my team looks like this

mm-mash shiny metagross
shiny double stone tyranitar
normal double dark tyranitar
100% espeon with c/future sight
100% exeggutor with bullet seed/sob or seed bomb, when i see alot of grass/ground and i want the multi charge move

as last one, i have a kyogre, but i think of kicking it out, cause i dont like it

You can use as water member in your team Swampert or Vaporeon with Aqua Tail- really like multi-bars and dodge friendly movesets. :)

In a fight with multiple people maybe. Dodging works just fine in solo attempts.

100% C/Dp Machamp
71% C/Dp Machamp
100% Rayquaza Dt/O
100% Kyogre W/hp
100% Raikou Ts/Wc
89% shiny Metagross Bp/Mm
If needed, 6th slot can be swapped to a specific counter like dark tyra or shadowball mewtwo.

DP Machamp
DP Hariyama
DP Breloom
DP Poliwrath
FB Alakazam
CC Blaziken

Those unique 6 non legendaries should take care of most defenders seen in gyms.

I head DB/DC Latios is a fun sweeper for low-motivation gyms. Dragon is only resisted by steel and fairy, it should be able to clean house in gyms that lack those.

To each their own I suppose. But personally, my BP comprises of:

Kyogre (w/hp)
Shiny Metagross (bp/mm)
Tyranitar (b/c)
Dragonite (dt/o)
Salamence (dt/dm)
Rhyperior (sd/se)

And yes Rhyperior instead of a Rock Tyranitar, simply cos I like diversity and Rhyperior's dps is only slightly less than SD Tyranitar.
