Maximizing the chances to get an exclusive raid pass

How are gyms selected for ex-raid pass ?

Because a raid has attracted a high number of players? More players than any gym around? Several groups have raided the same gym?

Should we do only one raid by gym to maximize the number of gym raided?
Should we prefer raids where a high number of player show up?

Used to be only at sponsored gyms (Starbucks, Sprint), but after they opened it to ither gyms I think there isn't any way to predict.

I suspect there is some algorithm because some areas seem to get multiple invites while others get none so suspect the algorithm just keeps assigning the raids in the same locations preferentially. Of course I could just be trying to see a pattern in randomness which is a common bias.

Do raids at as many gyms as possible to cast a wide net. Then pray/offer a sacrifice to RNGesus.

Maximise the number of raids to increase your chances of an invite. Not a recommended advice because this is exactly what Niantic wants you to do from a financial perspective.

I wouldn't be surprised if they will public release them in the end to maximize profit.

One problem for Niantic is to choose gyms that can accomodate a large number of physical persons whithout causing traffic problems etc. Central area parks would be a preference I guess.

And something they couldn't possibly no on the global scale the game runs - so it can't be a realistic factor.

I didn't think of that, but that is a good point and would knock-off many of our normal raid spots off the list. But to be reasonable time-wise, one would have to keep the raid numbers down to a manageable level.

If they have the capability to select reasonable gyms (and they should) they are certainly not using it. Since raids started I have never come across a t4 or t5 raid in the only city park that always has enough players but have seen 2 or 3 legendary raids at the same time on a remote forest hiking trail. So I try to only do raids now at gyms that could accommodate enough players for an EX-raid, i.e. town and city parks.

Sleep with John Hanke or the other Niantec employee. That's certainly how it works in other parts of California.

Just raid more and give them more of your money, sucker.

Take a few thousand dollars then burn it and roll around in the ashes....I mean buy raid passes and hit every gym in a 50 mile radius.
