Guys, what is the best? Psycho cut or confusion?

They're fairly close to one another, DPS is amost on par with one another, it really goes to play style, psycho cut's better for dodging, but I believe that confusion does slightly more damage

Psycho Cut's DPS is 8,33. Confusion's is 12,5 which is 50 % more. So DPS is not on par.

PC has more EPS (PC 13,33; C 9,38). PC has a shorter cooldown so it's easier to dodge with.

I haven't seen that PC can compare to C when trying to solo a raid. It is possible that in some cases it might, especially if you can more reliably dodge with PC. Dodging with C is really difficult.

It's not about the fast move's DPS, it's about the overall DPS. PC is better when psychic isn't super effective and the charge move SB or FB is super effective.

For an actual example, against Alakazam or Mewtwo PC is clearly better.

Confusion is the best and strongest fast move in the game. It does more damage than psycho cut. However psycho cut it very fast and very easy to dodge with, and I believe builds energy faster. So if you are using Mewtwo as a ghost attacker (shadow ball) or are fighting gyms (focus blast) psycho cut helps charge those moves faster.

For a generalist/raid attacker for max damage the move set Confusion + Shadow Ball is the best.

I agree with this. I have psycho cut paired with shadow ball and focus blast. As a psychic attacker, he is on the bulky side, so I use the stronger confusion, as he doesn't need to rely on dodging as much as a pokemon like Alakazam.

Psycho Cut pairs better with Shadow Ball to attack Psychic and Ghost

Confusion pairs better with Psychic to attack Fighting (and Poison I guess)

Confusion is the better move DPS-wise in a vacuum and hits really hard against defenders weak to it. Psycho Cut charges energy faster and is better against defenders resistant to Psychic when the charge move is super effective (e.g. Shadow Ball vs. Mewtwo).

Ultimately both are viable and I TM between the two when the situation warrants it.

Paired with shadow ball, confusion is better for raids, unless the boss resists psychic attacks, or in the rare cases when dodging is necessary (e.g. focus blast Gengar). For gyms, I would choose psycho cut for its dodgeability and faster energy gain, but I don't find shadow ball Mewtwo to be particularly useful for gyms, because SB is doubly resisted by normal types.

Paired with psychic, confusion is better.

Paired with focus blast, I like psycho cut better, because FB Mewtwo is much more useful in gyms than in raids, and psycho cut works better in gyms.

Personally, I have a C/SB, a PC/SB, and a PC/FB powered up, and I hope to add a C/P eventually. That should be about all the Mewtwos I need.

I believe PC. It's fast and much better for dodging. Confusion is great for defense but Mewtwo cannot put in gyms.

Depends on the charge move. Psycho Cut goes well with Shadow Ball in my experience since I normally use it to target bosses weak to ghost. The extra energy gain helps me fire more Shadow Balls off.

Confusion should be paired with Psychic for maximum psychic type DPS.

I haven't used Focus Blast but I could see either move working well. Confusion if general DPS is your game, Psycho Cut if the boss resist psychic but is weak to fighting I guess.

Confusion all the way unless you want to use Mewtwo as a dark type specialist attacker then psycho cut pairs better to spam shadow balls.

ghost-type specialist

Same difference pretty much though.
