Looking into the future

I know that everyone is now focused on developing boss-raid teams (e.g., Espeons, Machamps, etc.), but I'm guessing that Niantic is going to rotate the bosses. Anyone else think so?

It also seems clear that legendary eggs are coming, so I'm thinking about those teams (even though it may not matter since 20 trainers will likely join).

Really? Am I supposed to be looking for a team?

Nope. You assume a 30000 CP Mewtwo. But it can be 100000 or more. Why?
Some L3 Boss can be soloed. Every L3 Boss can be taken down by two trainers. But as soon as it gets to L4 with Snorlax/Lapras, things change drastically. It takes 5-7 people at least to get the job done. Triple the difficulty.
So, when happens in L5? Triple the difficulty again, which means 15-21 high level players with the right Pokémon, and perhaps some luck.
The secret is and has always been hidden in numbers.

You assume a multiply-by-3 geometric progression based on a single data point (4-stars take 3x the trainers of 3 -stars)... Why?

Niantic can do whatever it wants with them. Legendaries could be at events only (which would suck), and have special 100- or 1000-person lobbies, probably with ????? CP or something. If they have them in regular 20-man raids, though, I bet your ballpark is right: They would probably want 20 level 30's to have a shot at it, which means probably 15 higher-level players could do it.

Don't pretend you have some secret voodoo math, please. Those kind of rumors do nothing to help.

L2 to L3 too, if you think one data point is not enough.
I'm just using 3 as an example to demonstrate that each additional star might mean a lot. And it's just a approximation.
Besides, I wasn't spreading any rumors; I was just countering OP's point of "no point building a legendary Raid Boss counter team since we have numbers in players".

Don't put all your eggs in one basket, prepare for Tier 5, you know it's coming. A lot of people are throwing their resources into Machamp, and spending their rare candies. Yeah he's a good investment but you may want to have spare resources for future pokes.

I definitely think they will rotate the bosses. How random is it that Bayleef and Weezing are bosses? Particularly for the Levels 1-2, it would be laughable if they don't change fairly soon. There are dozens of Pokémon that would be as good or much better in this role than Bayleef and Weezing (just using these 2 as examples)

For Level 3 and especially Level 4, they started off with some good choices, so there are fewer obvious replacements. Dragonite, Gyarados, Golem, and Blissey (!) would be worthy Level 4 replacements.

They need to not rotate the bosses. I say this, because once they rotate through all of the mons, everybody will have all of them with good IVs and moves. Then what?

Probably not rotating. But I'm pretty dure they would add new raid bosses into the pool.

Besides possible rotating, don't forget that generation 3 is probably coming before too long. Infact, one might argue that the current raids are peoples chances to get some of the best gen 1-2 mons before gen 3 hits and they become even rarer.
