Level Cap Increase

Wasn’t this speculated a month or so ago. They were saying for level 41 is 7.5mil, 42 was 10mil, 43 was 13mil, 44 was 16mil and 45 was 20mil. The rewards supposedly weren’t that great either.

While I don't think this will be the case (it'll follow a similar trend to the progression that occurs already), I might actually like it if each number after forty was another forty. So:

41 = 40 Million total XP
42 = 60
43= 80
44 = 100 (5X Forty player)
etc.

Another way of following the pattern:
38-39 = 3 million
39-40 = 5 million
40-41 ~ 7.5 million
41-42 ~ 10 million
42-43 ~ 15 million
43-44 ~ 20 million
44-45 ~ 25 million

Seems logical to me!

Most of the responses seem reasonable. And would put it at almost 100 million to hit level 45. Most people complain that players would jump up a few levels if they released more but not many in the world are at that xp total

I only know a handful of people at level 40. It's not like there's a great need for it. And currently any level bonuses end at level 38 anyway (as far as what the trainer can do).

I think it would really crush a lot of players at 38 or 39 if they increased the level cap. At least let a few more people hit it first.

I'm about a month away from level 40 and don't care what level I am. I just play.

Is a level cap increase confirmed already?

I would prefer 5m xp between levels plus additional requirements not related to xp

And doesn’t ingress also have something similar towards the higher levels? At least that is what I recall hearing

41: 10 gold gyms. Several million exp
42: 20 gold gyms, pika medal, several million exp
43: 30 gold gyms, karp medal, several million exp
44: 40 gold gyms, rat medal, several million exp
45: 50 gold gyms, raid medal, several million exp.

Or something along these lines is what im hoping for. Strictly exp will be boring. There are way too many level 40 players with 15,000 catches who raid exclusively. Boring! Get back to the grind please.

I'm going to play contrarian.

My Option1:
zero XP to level 45. Some different route. Quests, Tasks, Raids, Badges, something.

My Option2:
5 Million to get level 41 (since 40 is part of game)
a Completely New Type of XP only gettable by level 41+ players to get to 45.

I don't buy the "They already earned Level 45 Because they have 100 million" Answer. This isn't how most MMOs I have played in the past Warcraft, Everquest work. They allow 1 level old way rest some new way. Current 40s with 100 Million also have way better Pokedex. XP comes from things that get you other rewards. Gym XP gets you badges that gives you items. Raid XP gets you Rare Candies and Rare Pokemon. Collector gives you Dust and Candy. XP is just a by product, if your XP was capped at 25,000,000 people would still play for Dust, Candy, improving thier pokedex.

39 - 40 = 5mil
40 -41 = 7.5mil
41-42 = 10 mil
42-43 = 12.5 mil
I have 44 mil, so i would be level 43
people like me don't need any rewards, just post my level so all can see. there would not be many level 43's so that's cool.
