Is a L25 groudon better than L30 rhydon?

As ground attacker, is it true?

I'm thinking keeping some weather boosted groudon instead of rhydon.

Edit:
Moreover, any use of L25 solar beam groudon in current meta?

Disregarding weather, no dodging, perfect Groudon level 25 double ground beats Raikou TS/WC in 963 sec. Perfect Rhydon level 30 beats TS/WC in 1007 sec. Level 35 Rhydon wins in 987 sec. I got 7 boosted Groudons, 6 SoB and 1 EQ...after Kyogre guess I'll change a few more back

No mon is going to survive 900+ seconds battling a raid boss. I think a more appropriate questions is, what percentage of a Raikou's health does each deplete before fainting?

We've been looking at these raid boss simulations for 6+ months. If somebody doesn't get what "winning in 900+ secs" means, they'll probably get it pretty soon. Just helps you estimate how many it will take to beat a Raikou...looks like 4 can do it with some comfort, using 6 level 25 ground Groudons each. ***Level 25 Groudons in clear weather win in 800sec. Level 35 Rhydons in clear weather win in 813 sec. Major point being, the OP asks if a level 25 is better than a level 30 Rhydon...well, I see that 25 is better than a 35 Rhydon

Just saying. I'm not sure how your estimation method includes survive-ability. For example, maybe, an undying gengar could beat something in 900 seconds, but in practice you'd need to go through 100 gengar to get the job done, and you obviously couldn't assemble a team of 4 trainers that had an hundred leveled up gengar. Also, there are time penalties for coming back in with a new team, which would affect the result.

"Winning in X seconds" means that it would take X s to beat the raid boss if there wasn't a time limit. You can get these kinds of statistics from Pokebattler, for example. How many Pokemon faint in that time is a completely different matter.

You need to also look at power to determine how many players you need for the raid. 4 players with 6 L25 Groudons would not finish the Raikou raid without rejoining as their TDO is only 93,2% of the boss health when they faint at 60 seconds left in the raid. 4 players with 6 L35 Rhydons wins comfortably without rejoining.

L25 Groudon has 23,3% power. L30 Rhydon has 24,2%, L35 26,5%. That means 6 copies of the mon take off that much health from the raid boss. L25 Groudon is better unless you want to take the raid down with 4 players without rejoining.

DPS is always the most appropriate question. TDO is relevant too and should not be left out, but its DPS first, TDO second.

I haven't tried too hard at Groudon but I have 7 boosted, so I'm answering the question for myself as much as for the OP.

I have 500 Rhydon candy, but I'm not going to evolve anymore Rhydon, unless perfect level 35. I'm satisfied with the Time to Win in this Groudon case. However, people questioning whether to power up a Zapdos expressly for Kyogre, bad idea IMO...that thing dies as fast as anything else. These Groudons are free action and they are extraordinary to have a convo "is 25 as good/better than 30+"

That is not the point. It is merely a helpful metric for quickly comparing how fast different pokemon are. It can also tell you that with attackers ranking in 900s-1200s range and only 300s raid time, you will need at least four people to complete the raid.

Yes, Mud Shot/Solar Beam is the current meta relevant moveset. If their IV's are similar consider keeping both in favour of a 200 coin storage upgrade for now. Groudon will be the most powerful ground attacker for some time yet with or without earthquake.

Make that the most powerful ground attacker ever in all generations. Unless Garchomp or something else with attack stat almost as high as Groudon gets a very good moveset, Groudon will be unchallenged through all 7 gens.

From my experience, a 20 Groudon (I have 1) is good, 25 is great (have 6) and 30 is outstanding (have 2 powered up so far). I've used them a lot and am very pleased.

About 1/2 have SB, the rest EQ - both useful against different raid bosses.

Summary: Any Groudon is a good mon, especially 25+.

That's what I did, no regrets. Still have TMs, nothing else to use them for right now.

Be aware this could also prompt them to take away Rock Smash and give Rhydon a rock-type fast move. As in most cases, holding your horses a good idea
