Gyarados is never useless. Gyarados is an inspiration to us all that with all the hard work and training even a little fish can dream to be bigger. The value of Gyarados was always symbolic.

What is kyogre? So what if it can move oceans? It was never a little fish that has seen it all and done it all, and it won't be an inspiration to anyone.

I don't plan to power up 6 double water Kyogres, so my 4 powered double water Gyarados will keep their spots on my water attack team. Kyogre is also potentially useful as an ice attacker, so equipping one with that moveset would take it out of my water attack team.

Don't worry, I only keep one of each Pokémon, so my Gyarados, Vaporeon, and other Water-types will still get some luv! ;)

Bullshit. Gyarados and Vaporeon base stats didn't change at all.

I think catching 50 will be a serious chore.

I think you never played the console games before. It's man made rules that keep the legendaries from breaking the game there.
