I'll admit I do this - I stick a few Snorlaxes/Blisseys in slots 4, 5, and 6 of my gym attacking parties to raise their stats... >.>

That's not how that works. This is the battles won by that Blissey in the time it's in the gym. You can easily do this by timing out or fight with e.g. 6x 10 cp Magikarps with an alt account.
