Nope.

Shadow claw Gengar has the highest DPS against Mewtwo. However it also dies from three or four confusions.

Gengar has a unique triple resistance to focus blast. I'll use my shadow claw Gengar against focus blast Mewtwo and laugh as it outlasts all the Tyranitars!!

If you wanna three man a Mewtwo, it's crucial to run shadow claw Gengar!!

Those points are pretty much the jist of every single shadow claw Gengar post. For a pokemon with less durability against Mewtwo than Sharpedo it does attract an amazing amount of questions.

Dont think it would even live long enough to see focus blast (plus even though it resist, its hp'd be so low it'd like let knocked out)

Not against confusion, but against PC it can usually survive a FB, which equals an extra Shadow Ball. It is the only way to trio M2 in neutral weather.

Agree with @gluglumaster, against PC it is survive long enough and can take one focus blast. Even against confusion it can fire one shadow ball if you power it up to high level ( max out for me) and if you lucky enough
You wont see any benefit using it if you only raid with a big group of trainer though.
