Invisible Dragonite?!

This morning my girlfriend and I went for some pokemon hunting to a park nerby. When we were ready to go back home, we saw a group of people running outside the park screaming "dragonite!" so we just followed them. Indeed there was a dragonite a few blocks away. The thing is my phone was out of battery, so I waited until my girlfriend caught it, and then we used her phone to log onto my acc, but the dragonite never appeared. People came minutes later and took it, and pokehuntr showed it was there, but I couldn't see it. Any explanation? It felt really bad btw.

I'm not a hater but I doubt you're getting any sympathy here after admitting to using a tracker.

It's probably a glitch unless it isn't. Try having your girlfriend catch another random mon then try to log in on her phone and catch it.

Lucky you! Never seen a wild Dragonite but then again dont use trackers. Although I do feel for you a bit. :D a little bit!

Sometimes the 3d model of a pokemon will not load but the little circles that appear around its feet will still be there showing that the game is trying to spawn it. Closing the app and restarting usually resolves the loading problem.

Exactly, this happey to me all the time, it usually takes about 20 sec to spawn but the white circle is always there.

Yeah, I have experienced that some times, due to bad internet connection, but this time even the white circle didn't show up. The game acted as if I had already caught the pokemon. Hell, it didn't even show the nite in the nearby in-game tracker.

I bet a lot of people here use 3rd party trackers. In fact I bet a majority of hard core players use them. This purist mentality that many here act like it's cheating is getting very old. Is it cheating? Probably in the view of Niantic or purists but I can't imagine hunting without one. I would have quit this game a long time ago if it wasn't for trackers. It would be boring as hell and frustrating to use the in-game tracker only. Today I went out all day to hunt with some friends I made because of this game. We all use trackers. We still did a lot of walking, exploring and came across a 100 IV level 30 Rhydon on our tracker. We went through bushes, cross a railroad track, jumped through hoops, stood against a fence just to reach this beast. It was a very memorable catch that we enjoyed because of a tracker. This is how I play. This is how I hunt. And this is how we make new friends.

Yeah, the in game tracking has always been awful! I can't be entertained with a game where all I see is the common junk rats, sentrets, etc... they're great for stardust and xp, but what's the point of leveling up and having stardust if there's nothing worth powering up to your level with the stardust? Gotta get a good catch every once in a while to make the grinding worth it, and the in game tracking does not seem to help that part. Btw, what moves did the rhydon have?

Oops. I meant Rhyhorn. All four of us caught it. Double checked that it was 100 IV with the in game appraisal. Then checked the level on Pokegenie and confirmed it was indeed 100 IV level 30. (Btw, isn't checking IV with 3rd party app or on here cheating? ?)

We were just shocked and ecstatic. But we didn't evolve it right away for the fear of getting a shit MS. We talked about stories of past unlucky and heartbreaking movesets. After about 20 minutes I said F it and I was the first to evolve it as we all watched the process and held our breaths.

Bang! MS/SE. Everyone gave me ?. One friend didn't evolve it because he's waiting for the gym rehaul. Another didn't evolve it due to lack of candies. And the last friend evolved it an hour later and got MS/MH. I felt so bad for her. It was crushing but this is RNG.

You're lucky to make friends this way. I once caught a Snorlax. Since there was a park near by, I spent lots of time trying to find it, until I caught it across the street (I was so sure it would have been in the park then). Well, I was curious since I heard about mapping software then, so I sat in the park after and watch for 15 minutes. About 10 cars showed up and park right were the Snorlax was. Even better, it was at a bus stop. At one point, two cars were parked there, with a bus waiting to drop people, but they would not even see the bus, or the fact that they were parked in a no parking zone (bus drop zone). Trust me, those guys would never make friends that way. Since then, every now and the, if I stumble across something good, I wait a little to get an idea how many people are still using map. It's amazing the number of cars that zooom at twice the speed limit, stop for 15 seconds right on the spot and leave. Trust me, in my area, none of those are making friends.

I had a similar experience. I caught a Snorlax who I saw in nearby and within minutes several cars came racing to the scene.

I'm not sure how trackers work, but aren't they just GPS spoofing? How else do the
Trackers get an entire map? It is still cheating if you pay someone to do your dirty work for you.

Most players who use maps to find pokemons eventually start spoofing as well. Why spend gas money, or energy walking when you can do everything from home. That's why maps are such a problem and literally killing the game for those who want to play legit.
