If you could buff one Charge move....

Which would it be?

Either Ice Beam or Blizzard. Ice gets a raw deal, being generally really weak, but doubly effective against flying dragons (which covers Dragonite, Rayquaza, and Salamance, so far - an important group, but a small group).

psychic, it is a terrible charge move and mewtwo is stuck with it for psychic type.

Avalanche is one of the best charge moves in the game. I don't think ice needs another top tier one seeing how Ice Beam and Blizzard are both pretty good.

Frost Breath and Ice Shard are pretty decent fast moves. Ice Beam and Blizzard both are pretty solid charge moves with solid DPS.

What holds Ice Types back isn't their moves. The moves are all pretty great. But it's the STATS.

All ice types out right now have horrific stats. Articuno, Lapras, Walrein, Cloyster, and Piloswine all have attack stats that don't even break 200. Jynx has 225 attack, but has the bulk of wet tissue paper, so her TDO lets down her DPS.

In Gen 4, we get Mamoswine, an ice-type that'll have killer stats. It'll be a monster option in Dragon Type raids.

Rock blast or Earthquake

All 3 of my Golems have Rock Blast, I would like this

Earthquake or Flash Cannon

Thunder or Psychic

Draco Meteor

I'd like X-Scissor to get the Leaf Blade treatment

Why? It's already one of the best charge moves.

Because many of my pokemons that I've powerd up have shadow ball so it would be to advantage compared to for example drill run and hyper beam.

As i interpret the question: what move would I buff. Not what buff whould balance the game more.

Or as the author said regarding buffing rock blast

Drill Run, Ground moves need a buff.

It's tough to look beyond Earthquake and maybe a steel-type charge move, like Flash Cannon. All the other Ground- and Steel-type charge moves suck, whereas for the vast majority of other types, you've got at least one stellar charge move.

Buffing Flash Cannon would be great honestly.

Poor Metagross got the cold shoulder.

I would love to see Metagross getting a multi-bar Steel move. I wouldn't even mind if it wasn't buffed, just Gyro Ball or Heavy Slam would put Metagross at a different category for countering Fairy and Dragons. It's just Flash Cannon and it does good damage to Latias, but I would like to avoid so much energy waste all the time.

Earthquake.

There are other that have balance issues but ground's weak moves are the most glaring ones. And Earthquake is a very powerful move in the handhelds.

Clear answer should be earthquake. The fact that one of the staple moves in the main series is so poor in Go is annoying, not to mention the fact that Ground types moves are just overall lacking in general. That or add another move that’s great

Rock: Stone Edge/Rock Slide
Ground: Earthquake/Bulldoze second best?
Psychic: Future Sight/Psyshock
Ghost: Shadow Ball
Dark: Foul Play/Dark Pulse
Dragon: Outrage/Draco Meteor
Steel: Iron Head/Flash Cannon
Fairy: Play Rough/Dazzling Gleam

Out of all of these “best” moves (honestly was off the top of my head, also realized that Grass has some of the best overall charge moves despite being a very niche typing) only Ground and bug stand out to me as not having any great moves.

I guess it would be better to boost moves that a lot of Pokémon can learn instead of ones hardly any can. Earthquake would still be up there for that but otherwise I’d say something like X-Scissor. Maybe at 55-60 it would be up there in tier.

Drill run might be better than bulldoze but it doesn’t matter since no Pokémon with decent stats and typing learn either (Rhydon had Drill Run as a signature move in Pokémon conquest but niantic decided to go with surf somehow). Same with Rock Slide, it’s a good move but irrelevant due to moveset distribution.

I guess that would make Excadrill a Pokemon to look forward to in the future perhaps? Should also have very high attack

Agreed. I'd love to be able to use Pinsir and Scizor to actually deal significant damage instead of the ''6th slot , probably won't get used''

Ground types in general get a pretty raw deal. Rhydon and Groudon have tremendous stats, but suffer in terms of DPS because ground moves pretty universally have poor DPS.

If we're just doing charge moves, then yeah buff Earthquake. But really, I'd buff the fast moves mud shot and mud slap
